Author Jen Sincero talks about letting go of her fears and how a trip to India changed her life.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I'm listening to the Audiobook for the 3 time. Jen is as funny as she is inspiring, I laughed so much. Jen Sincero is a natural presenter/performer I really hope she writes more books.

I appreciate how she made herself be flexible to unexpected situations. She wanted quiet and solitude, but there were people every where. I like how she embraced leaving her comfort zone.

The self-help industry is always telling us to “leave our comfort zone”(and then enter into an uncomfortable place for only God knows how long). Why do they not instead tell us to “leave our false comfort zone” (and then enter into our true comfort zone, which is the God of all comfort, and no discomfort at all)?

I stopped reading self help books but there's something about this lady that attached me to her book maybe it's the way she's so simple and explains them like we're having a conversation I don't know but I just like her.

omg! I can't praise this woman enough! No joke. She IS a badass and she wrote a badass book that is as real as it can get even though it has some woo hoo stuff for the people who might be afraid to try it. However, she just breaks it down in such a way that you actually get it and can really follow it! THANK YOU, Jen so much for being you!

LOL! This is the most childish privileged breathless banter I have ever heard. This is what happens when you have no purpose outside of your ‘happiness’. This is so shallow and meaningless it’s like a parody. The comments section might as well say rich people with zero life experience! Much love.

I like this talk and her book you are a badass but I want to know about what happens when you go for it, your dreams, and you do all the stuff that one can do to support that, including quit your secure job and change your life...and then it doesn't work out. Not everyone goes for their dreams and winds up with a book deal and a Ted Talk. Just curious about her thoughts on that...I fear she might say, well then you didn't really go for it...which isn't true. Just curious...Also, her advice to just go scare the crap out of yourself seems to be missing some other parts...that are relevant and important to those of us with children, responsibilities, etc...it's a great idea but feels a little superficial to me.

Well there's this thing she (and possibly others) also say, that... to archive great things you must make sacrifices, and get out of the comfort zone... And yeah, that's the thing. It's scary and that's why people don't try it. In my opinion, if it doesn't work out, then you learnt something, right? Good luck :)
