India was world's 7th largest economy in 1950. By 1990, It slipped to 13th position and was in deep crisis of balance of payments. 'Hindu Growth Rate' was a term coined by the economists of that era to describe economic sluggishness. Dr. MMS scrapped Stalinist/Nehruvian Economic Order which even laissez faire supporters like Morarji Desai with RSS support could not do, put the economy in order and high growth trajectory, brought back the mortgaged gold and so on. It is because of Dr. MMS that India now is world's 5th largest economy and is slated to be world's 3rd largest economy in another ten years.
