Racism in South India is no different from North India. A young boy from Shilong came to work in Coimbatore for his living. He was a hairdresser in Naturals. He seemed very stressed and silent so my friend and I decided to talk to him since we knew he has come from far away and has no one to talk to(we had talked to other NE hairdressers for the same reason, every NEhairdresser we have talked to had similar issues but this one was extreme). Initially, he wasn't answering much but later he trusted us and told us everything that he has faced until now. An old lady who cleans the floor calls him mental. He was beaten up by his manager. He only eats once a day and he didn't get his pay for the past few months. After all this conversation the old lady came from another room and told me to stay away from him because he is mental and not to believe anything he said.

This brought back so many memories, spent 8 years in New Delhi, met the most amazing as well as the most scary people. As a northeastern sister to all my brothers and sisters from north east, please make friends outside of your circle too. I met my best friends from Delhi, kerela and UP from work place and apartment building. Greet that uncle/bhaiya/aunty who's shop you frequent everyday, talk to them. Be respectful and mindful of their culture and they will respect you too. I say this because we don't do this at all, and often times we are defenseless and have no one on our side. Racism is unfortunately everywhere. We are victims as well as the perpetrators and that is the sad truth.

You have stated this accurately. This is the truth. Not all are like that though, but maximum population have such narrow mindset 💯

@nishant kumar , that is why you ask first, 'where are you from?' and not directly 'are you Chinese'...

We should ask them, " are you from North East ?" Instead asking them "are you from china ?"

Rudra Sachan sad thing is sometimes they wouldn’t even ask. They’ll just joke amongst themselves whispering “ye nepali hai” and gawk! I’m like “hey you can ask ME rather than speculating. Ps. I understand hindi too well.”

We shouldn't ask them anything at all they're our people them looking different doesn't change anything

People should never assume and ask "Are you from this or that, here or there? " People should rather take the civilised and logical route and ask, "Where are you from ? " and let them answer whey they are from themselves (instead of making assumptions)

India has literacy but not educated....! So sad to hear. Largest democracy 😑
@Anandvmishra5 жыл бұрын
What is the meaning of literary? Just reading and writing. Even a 5th standard can do that. So if say about proper education, they are not even 10 percent.
@KennyGuite5 жыл бұрын
@@Anandvmishra I think he meant literacy although it's quite similar... Non illiterate people are those who can read and write a language in the correct form, from what I know..
