This is really sad. I grew up in Chicago. I went to highschool in Chicago but moved away to the suburbs when I had children. It wasn't this bad 11 years ago. The city is terrible now. If you have the opportunity, please move out of the city.

Really proud of the blacks. Only 54 children killed so far in Chi rack ? That's minus the two boys 4 & 6, who were allowed to go outside, in an unfamiliar place, in The Shy.... without armed security - no parents, grandparents, cousins, aunt's watching them. Drowned after falling thru the ice, and becoming trapped. If there were white men in this apt. complex.... and they saw these boys, or were alerted to the children's situation. They would have done anything, and everything, and probably would have saved the boys. At least they would've given it every heroic measure. I was with some men, when we heard the news. It made me proud, how the ideas of how they would've intervenes, and what they would do. It wasn't over 5 ' deep where the boys were. A grown man could have retrieved those precious children. Instead, a single mother - after she heard one scream - tried to get them - fell through the ice, and had to abandon the effort.
