Running RST in my 900whp 5.0 for 5 years. 46k miles later, still works. Can't do digs, because it slips, but rolls are fine, i shift at 7800rpm. Chatters since 50mile break in, i am used ti it already.

You'll have to do a video once both are installed! Awesome vid.

The Mantic Kit is also rebuildable and can be upgraded from the twin to the triple disc and a quad disc if needed. The case is also only a $50 upcharge, Mantic does sell their kits in a box in white which is just like the mcleod packaging, but if I'm spending $1500+ on a clutch the case is a nice inclusion.

If i remember correctly, the difference between the RXT & the RXT 1200 is the HP & torque tolerances. The RXT is rated up to like 1000 HP vs 1200 for the RXT 1200. The RST, for any that care, is gonna have a more stock clutch feel to, & is great for street driving. It's also only rated for something like 600-800 hrsprs.

Awesome info Chad. I'm looking at doing a clutch in my Cobra next year. Still waiting for the VMP & Fuel system install to be done but I have a feeling my stock clutch is going to be on borrowed time. I'll most likely go with the RXT 26 Spline and upgrade to the Magnum T56 trans.
@JaegerWrenching3 жыл бұрын
Awesome i wouldn't mess around with the stock T56 or stock clutch, it'll hold for maybe one or two passes and then slip. Go RXT and magnum and it'll work great! Or even the new triple from mantic would be awesome!

@@JaegerWrenching I’d love to go mantic but $$$$. We will see when the time comes though. Glad to see you uploading a video again

After my whipple 2.9 gen 4 upgrade and fore e85 setup my stock clutch lasted about 500 miles on low boost and I was being easy on it.

On my 2016 gt350 I went with a rxt 1200 with my stock trans (kooks headers, id1050 injectors, 507whp on pump e85) I did a good bit of 2nd gear 50mph rolls in Mexico and after that my 3rd gear started to grind and wasn't happen with high rpm pulls its 50/50 that it will grind on me now. So soon I will do the t56 magnum xl upgrade. I'm looking into the mantic and maybe even the rps billet carbon twin disc. After this video for the money the McLeod looks like a good option to. Also wanna do carbon fiber drive shaft.

Have you come across any problems with clutch disengagement with aftermarket clutches? Especially clutches that are thicker or have a higher stack? Im having trouble with disengagement after installing a heavy body (500+hp) aftermarket clutch.

so i just had a mcleod rxt installed in my cobra mustang and i am 450 miles into the break in period. and about 3 days ago when i went to drive the car everytime i push the clutch in it makes a popping noise. even when not running. i jacked the car up and put my hand on the trans and you can feel the noise thru the trans.i called mcleod and they said something wasnt put in right.its going back to the trans shop tommorow but i just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem.clutch works perfectly and shifts just fine

clutch fork isn't installed onto the throw out bearing properly is my first guess.

@@JaegerWrenching thank you for your reply.thr funny thing is yesterday when I went to take it to the trans shop I got in the car and pushed the clutch in and no noise.i did it like 10 times.and I'm thinking great.now it's not doing it.i took off and by the time I got to 3rd it was popping again.its going back there tomorrow.i just hope it didn't break anything

Mantic box game is on point. Mcleod's box is a basic bitch. It's the wink link lol
@DJGRoc2 жыл бұрын
Mantic's do come in a sweet box, but like dude said, "you're pay for the box." Hence why they're typically $1000 more than the McLeod. Nice thing about them though is that they usually come with a lightweight flywheel & also your throw out bearing & slave cylinder. McLeod clutches are designed to be modular. Meaning you just bolt it to your existing flywheel & go. No muss no fuss.
