You know what I think would be cool? Giving Panda some of Wang's moves to further differentiate her from Kuma. It'd also parallel Kuma getting some moves from his master, since Wang was Xiaoyu's

I kinda hoped that the one comment I saw was legit. That being panda being more focused on bear roll while Kuma on hps. That alone could give them distinct playstyles but I guess it really is only the heat. Not enough for me but at least it different tools. I hope they add unique moves to each other or maybe just upgrade hbs and bear roll to Kuma and panda respectively.

Would've been interesting. I was expecting more Xiaoyu -> Panda and Heihachi -> Kuma bleed over, weird that they share so many moves (e.g., why does Panda know Heihachi's 1+2?)

@@Tyler2k iirc her lore states that she was trained by heihachi to be xiaoyu's bodyguard so it could make sense on 1+2 and 1 b2 1. But honestly still doesn't fit as her personality grows.

So why did they make these characters 2 separate assets and not just a costume change? These critters took away from not 1 but 2 base roster spots for this?!?! 🙄

They do it because it makes the roster look bigger and takes VERY little work compared to a whole nother character. Don't think of it as "taking a Slot away".

I think Namco just wanted a round, even number. I agree with everyone that it's more like adding than losing a slot.

That is one of the silliest things I've ever read. It takes an extremely small amount of resources to essentially copy paste a character with a slightly different model. It's not like we missed out on a whole new character because of that. Besides, despite playing pretty much the exact same, they are different characters in the lore lol. In the previous games there was literally 0 difference except for their 3d model and maybe rage art in 7 but I forget.
