What another beautiful tutorial video. Flaxseed gel has been one of my favorite ingredients to incorporate in many products. And in case you don't know, the reason why flaxseed renders such a thick lovely gel, is because it's loaded with steric acid :-)

You could also extract the annatto seeds in lye after removing it from the oil. Annatto has colors that are soluble in strong alkalis. That way you'll get twice the color for your money.

I was thinking the same thing about how relaxing this music is. And I enjoy making things like soap. I thought to myself about the flax seed, it is excellent for helping in constipation with a gel like substance when taken orally to keep you regular. I am going to try this recipe.

The aesthetics of this video...everything about it, is lovely! After being inspired by you, I used Flaxseed gel for the first time in a soap and I am IN LOVE!! It imparts a luxurious, silky slip that made me fall in love immediately! Even during mixing, my batter was shiny and buttery. And the LATHER??!!! OHMUHGUHDNESS!! Bubbles Galore!! I used to make flaxseed gel to use on my hair. A lot of curly-haired people did a couple of decades ago because there weren't any products specifically made for curly hair. The industry caught on and now there are lots of products made with flax for curly hair. It's very nourishing as well as being just a great gel in general for hold.

What a beautiful, sunny yellow you achieved with the annatto infusion your soap is truly wonderful .. thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful tip on using the flax seed gel .. now I will give back to everyone watching another tip .. use avocado pulp puree to add extra creamy lather into any cp recipe you can also use in HT soap but it will darken your soap recipe with the cook .. I use the puree of one small avocado into a 5 pound recipe .. it creates such a rich,creamy soap 🤩..

@@jo1872 in cold or hot process soap the avocado pulp is basically “ cooked” into your soap batter so it doesn’t cause any issues with spoilage the lye technically dissolves it into oil/natural sugars .. the natural sugars and oil adds creamy lather to your soap recipe

Irish moss is a great addition to spa bars. I made a lovely Dead sea mud soap this summer and I corporated sea moss and kelp powder. The soap was lovely.

The Sea moss and Dead Sea Mud must have made a very luxurious-feeling soap. I have researched using kelp powder in soap. Did it leave a distinct odor or did it fade with the cure? I know some people are able to compliment the odor with essential oils and fragrance oils. From what I’ve read, rosemary seemed to be the best one to use.

My grandmother and her sisters all used flax gel in the 20’s and 30’s as hair gel. She thought it so funny when we would use flax seed on our oatmeal and in cookies. Just chewing on a pinch of seeds is so yummy.

@@rheshondajenkins5757 Hi, Sara has replied stating that we can add both Citric Acid and Sodium Lactate to the Lye water. One before mixing the lye and other when the temp of the lye water cools down. Also there is no specific percentage to oils for the Flaxseed Gel, but i usually follow just what Sara does. In her recipe it's around 10% gel to the measured oils

Flaxseed is also excellent for IBS, Crohn’s disease or any type intestate to problem especially for intestinal bleeding. Prepared the same way. The jello will coat the intestines, stops the bleeding and the inflammation will heal. Family me,her was sent home from the hospital to die and 25 yrs later still doing fine.

Such a relaxing video. You are so right about the citric acid. It kills me when people say it lowers the pH. But I just want to say that making separate citric acid solution and adding it directly to the oils will accelerate so much because in there it reacts with the lye! I found that adding to the the lye solution will heat up all the solution like crazy. So i do it there and wait till it cools before adding to the oils.

Unfortunately the chia seed doesn't separate from the gel the way that flax seeds do. It's not as easy to make/use.

Thank you Tania! You can replace oat oil with another oil high in linoleic acid, for example, sesame oil has a similar fatty acid profile😊

Hello! I have been watching your videos for a while and absolutely love them. I see you have a few ebooks that I really want to purchase but want to ask if you go over creating your own recipes using ingredients like kojic acid, botanical extracts, and copper gluconate. I have bad acne and I think using some these ingredients in my soaps would help a lot, but don't know the exact science in creating my own recipes with them. Thank you so much!

Thank you! Substitute with another oil high in linoleic acid, or just add more olive oil🙂 But run it through a lye calculator anytime you make changes

Hi Mam,its really spr and i am gng to try this receipe ...one doubt for flaxseed gel if u need to add means whether we need to reduce the distilled water amout??or flaxseed gel is extra one?
