There's also Yurgir along with his soldiers and displacer beast. Remember all of the...art works...he made with all the corspes. Also Balthazar is in the temple of Shar. And you need to go through Shar's trials. And you need to be a Sharran to pray to Shar to get the portal to the shadowfell I think.

It’s even funnier when you consider the party the player gathered to find the night song compared to the party he gathered. A vampire spawn, a shar cleric, a warlock, a githyanki warrior, a powerful wizard, and an infernal barbarian. He brought like 6 human fighters lol.

Well, he does know where the goblin camp is, so he knows where not to go. And unlike us, he doesn't have to travel through the Shadow Cursed lands and can follow the Risen Road all the way to the city. The worst he can encounter are some wild animals, the occasional highwayman and maybe some absolutists on their way to join Ketheric's army. If the tieflings believe they have a chance of reaching the city after you clear out the goblins, then a small band of reasonably experienced mercs probably does too. At the very least, they should be able to handle absolutist stragglers or a few hungry wolves.

Pff, its only a devillish Monsterhunter, the same Beardruid who carried their sorry arses, a bloodthirsty Drow-Paladin, Jaheira and Minsc who beat a bloody Bhaalspawn, a slightly handicapped Archmage, a fucking Demonkiller who can scorch you just by being in melee range, a Cleric who outlived her squad in a suicidemission, and Laezel herself. Shes pretty much a Jedi with all the jumps, swordsmanship and telekinesis.

I did test what turning her in to the wizard actually gives you. You get 5k gold then in the final battle you get like a single fireball from the wizard as a one time use rather than the badass Dame Aylin.

Honestly I kind of like that Aradin is just constantly an asshat. He doesn’t get better or have a revelation of the error of his ways. Maybe he could given the right circumstances, but Aradin is the type of person who doubles down on his mistakes. Much like the gambler who has been losing all night and thinks one more hand of cards will change his fortunes. Sometimes people can’t be saved. Sometimes you can’t appeal to their reason or their empathy or even their survival instincts. They can’t be helped unless they want to be and Aradin doesn’t want to be. It’s sad but some people choose a self-destructive path like that and I like that Aradin’s story shows that.

Orin and Raphael and Gortash are “capital E evil” villains with dark and menacing plots often in service of powerful gods and/or archdevils. Aradin isn’t a powerful devil, doesn’t have a dark god in his corner or powerful magical artefacts at his command. He’s just some greedy dipshit with a big ego. Most of us have probably known an “Aradin” or two in our personal lives. He’s the kind of villain that most of us have met at least once, so he seems oddly more loathsome compared to a more bombastic “supervillain” type.

But, even if the party was too, you outnumber him, you're covered head to toe in magic items, you have Isobel on your side, who is unlikely to take well to someone trying to take Dame Aylin, and the immortal aasimar herself. I didn't like Aradin at all.. He shoulda known from just approaching the ruins it was full of goblins just from the smell before he could see or hear it. that means 1) he was too cocky and ill -prepared which risked his own people. Then , he has the audacity to say he didn't need help. when we all know he was crying to be let back into the grove.. a grove with women and children in it.. that he led a buncha goblins into. i found him on the bridge before the Blighted village.. clicked on the turn based mode and killed him right there and then with my gloom-stalker ranger. seemed appropriate !

I think that the fact you kill Lorroakan just removes Aradin from the equation. I told him the truth and right after I went to Lorroakan and killed him, all in the same day. Aradin never showed up in my camp.

I felt bad for this guy in Act 1. Tieflings treated him and his mercs like shit and I really sympathized with them. Too bad he just gets this cocky and callous and stupid in Act 3 and you can't even persuade him to fight Lorroakan with you. Feels like a waste.
