@@user-fn2nk9go5f From my understanding, the 2 reasons given are: 1 kill spirals into making Batman a serial killer (because mental instability), and/or Batman is determined (some would say stubborn) in believing pretty much anyone can be redeemed, which may or may not be true, but you certainly won't find the criminally insane or otherwise redeemed sending them to what is usually an outdated and corrupt facility that's essentially a super prison with no interest in rehabilitation (I'd actually like to see a story where Bruce is able to successfully use his fortune to renovate Arkham to assist with his mission as Batman, making Gotham a safer place while also seeing what becomes of his Rogue's Gallery) TLDR: He spirals out of control or really believes they can be saved with enough effort Side Note: I know I probably sound pretty negative in this reply, but I honestly really enjoy Batman's character despite of these details that could be considered writing flaws, or interesting flaws within Batman's stories

@@SubSero_he did help save clay face, Mr freeze, Harley and Ivy (kinda I guess), man-bat, two face (in the dark knight returns, I believe), kite man and some others, I remember it being mentioned that his limo driver is a reformed criminal. So he’s not completely wrong on the reformed part. There’s also the matter of if he kills he’ll be alienated from the police department as Jim Gordon mentions in the killing joke ( a story that originally had a vague ending that implied Batman killed the joker, even if it was soft retconned ).

So they think that he might not be doing enough, that he's just spending all his money on Batman. Even though that's not true and stories go out of their way to show that he is a different kind of rich. What they don't realize that his wealth is actually very much a superpower on itself. It's his responsibility the same way Spiderman's powers are. It works with a comic book logic, as his wealth is endless. Obviously if Batman was real, Bruce would lose his money considering how much he spends on improving the city, helping the poor and Batman. But this isn't a real world, so people should chill.

Imagine children being kidnapped and being mutilated to become a "cute" little Doll, like DollMaker. Imagine being a Cop and having to deal with an 11ft tall Crocodile looking Human, knowing he cannibalises anyone he finds. Imagine the entire City being held Hostage and the way to stop it is by Solving Complex Puzzles and Riddles within a Matter of short period Time, just because someone wants to flex their genius to everyone. Like I said, no Batman villain should be excused of their action just because they're mentally ill. How many people would actually not give a Damn Joker is mentally ill and would prefer him dead? Season 2 was really fun. It introduced a lot of Batman villains in their own creative ways. You can dictate how the final episode will go depending on your interactions with a certain character. And when I mean that, I mean you get a drastically different final episode with its own narrative. Even within the two unique episodes they have some minor changes depending on you what you do and what happened.

I agree season 2 was my favorite, however there were some things that bugged me like, why couldn't Batman (or Bruce) have told Gordon that He was undercover and that Batman was staying out of it because if Batman showed right as they were doing stuff it would look to suspicious, or why you couldn't just tell Tiffany outright that you were undercover stuff like that but overall the game was amazing and season 2 was the best, hopefully we get a season 3 and a Wolf Among us 2.

This is super random, but you know what series would make a really good Telltale Game? Scooby Doo. I just really think the atmosphere and game mechanics would be perfectly for Scooby Doo. So many Telltale game plot are built around mysteries so it's already a perfect fit and while the game guides you through the mystery, your choices can drive the character interactions between the Scooby Gang. You could end the game with the gang as even greater friends or as resentful former friends. And in the vain of Mystery Incorporated, I think a more villainous and murderous bad guy would fit this game's plot. Like it'll still be a bad guy in a mask but the monster would look really scary and commit some serious crimes. If they all want to go all out they could even have multiple monsters with the Gang working their way up to uncover a conspiracy. The first episodes can focus on unmaking underling monsters with the real mastermind monster being the final opponent. If Telltale can take an established character like Batman and rework his lore into a new yet familiar feeling experience, they could totally do the same with the Scooby Gang. And like I said, the mystery elements of the tv show would fit perfectly with the gritty, noir aesthetic Telltale games thrive on.

Mr freeze: commits crimes to save nora, batman knows this and tries to resolve conflict without beating victor up and or tries to make him stop his actions for noras sake Poison ivy: only a villain to save the environment, batman knows this and is willing to bargain with ivy to have her stop killing. Harvey: batman feels guilt in dents circumstances and tried to get two face help and often talks to harvey who is hurting inside.

The rework of the origin is god tier, Bruce fighting so hard to fix Gotham because his parents thrived in the crime city unbenounced to him, justifies alot of his actions in my mind, a bit like Bucky goin back and undoing what Hydra made The Winter Soldier do. He has an actual reason to be crippling the criminals and "mentally ill" when they have soured the reputation of Gotham like his parents and may have even benefitted from a move that they made.

I immediately liked the Cobblepot much more than any of the other versions and felt genuinely attachted to Harvey throughout. Neither were perfect and had plenty of flaws but it was just nice to see something a little different from the norm. And outside of elseworld stories Martha and Thomas aren't really characters in my eyes.

I also loved how you can prevent Harvey's disfigurement but he still becomes Two Face, just internally. It shows that the scars only accelerated the process. Harvey is severely mentally ill, and its so sad to see his sickness consume him

@@puffpuffpassmako I dunno. I kinda always disliked that. His mental illness gets accelerated anyway due to the drugs, and he goes full Two-Face anyway. So it doesn't matter who you save at the end of the day; Selina or Harvey. If that's the case, why make it a choice at all? I would've preferred not being able to stop Harvey's scarring in exchange for making a choice that had an actual consequence or effect on the story. I always end up chosing to save Selina even though I love Harvey. It makes later events make far more sense, and makes it feel as if my choices have some kind of consequence.

@@Shift_Salt - I also liked the Telltale Cobblepot, but he felt much more like a fusion between *Black Mask* and *Hush* than the regular Penguin. Childhood friend with Bruce, also from one of the OG rich Gotham families, has an axe to grind with the Waynes, wears a mask/helmet to hide his identity, mommy issues, etc etc... They made Oswald slim to look more like his *Gotham* counterpart which I appreciated (gotta love Robin Lord Taylor), but he acted & looked more like his bastard son Ethan "Blacksun" Cobblepot (a fairly recent Batgirl rogue) than any version of Oswald I've seen.

This is one of the best takes on Batman I’ve ever seen. The twist on his parents not being innocent blew my mind when I first played it and I loved how it affected Bruce and his motivation to be Batman going forward. The little twists on the characters were always interesting and fresh. The 2nd game is great as well and also added a fresh new take on a certain character. Wish we could get a 3rd Telltale Batman game.

One thing I like about TellTale Batman is that the reveal of the Waynes being corrupt has no cop out resolution like in The Batman where Alfred is like "oh, no, your parents were totally good guys, they were just afraid." No, the Waynes in TellTale were scum, through and through, and it reinforces the idea that Bruce's actions as both the CEO of Wayne Enterprises and the Batman is his way of cleaning his family name.

The thing that makes Superman and Batman stand out is that they have benefited from having parents who loved and nurtured them, acting as an inspiration in their absence. I get the feeling that the way writers obsess over characters with abusive parents isn't just because its easy boil-in-the-bag character development, but also out of a sense of spite due to their own parental issues. it ties into the issues twitter "people" have with Batman's wealth or Superman's power. Being a present, loving parent is an integral virtue of the human animal, and the onus of being the recipient of parental love encourages a person to show that same love to their own children. Being the recipient of any blessing in life is a pressure to give back what you have received to others. Clark has the love of the Kents and their good moral judgement, and Bruce has the determination and prestige the Waynes gave him. This should inspire the reader to become better people, and ultimately better parents in their own right. Neurotics see these characters and feel nothing but envy and inadaquacy. Don't be like Twitter. Stay the fuck away from Twitter.

What i like about Telltale‘s Batman is that they actually took time to make Batman and Bruce Wayne 2 different personalities and not just a mask someone else is wearing, which usually is Batman wearing Bruce Wayne as a mask. But this time, it‘s like with Daredevil. You have the buisness man that can take care of things in one way and the superhero in a different way anf both with different results! That’s something i haven’t seen in a LONG time! It’s usually just always Batman, only using his Bruce Wayne persona for the fame and acess and that’s it.

The idea of Batman as a rich bully is such a surface level, reductive take that it can really only work as a worn out joke. There are so many versions where Bruce Wayne is a philanthropist and Batman wants to see the good in his villains. Probably also why he didn’t talk about John, because I would REALLY love to see what he thinks of John. Technically he’s still joker either way but, depending on how you treat him your relationship WILL change. I happened to get the best ending because I simp for John. I though his Joker segment on how if Bruce had done something it could have been different was a John reference, but he doesn’t know, and I’m just too obsessed with John.

It's members marry wealthy environmental offenders, subtly off them, take their life insurance & channel it all into Ivy's private, offshore account she uses to fund their eco terrorist activities. Some of it set aside for her botanical experiments, creating monstrous flytraps & cactus mutants (TAS reference) to serve them. Appearance wise I'm leaning towards her Daphne Demeter look from TAS in her college professor/lecturer day time life & her original, Silver Age appearance when Batman goes to confront her. I'd also include the whole obsessive stalker aspect of Poison Ivy's character we've never seen outside the comics. Either Bats agrees to join her or he's mulch.

Season 2 is a HUGE step up. For one thing, for the only time the original (non-revived) Telltale pulled off, your choices MATTER. The final episode can be two entirely different stories depending on how your choices affected John Doe in his evolution towards being The Joker. Either way he’s a villain, but it’s up to the decisions you make as Bruce and as Batman whether he tries to be a hero and fails, or if he simply lets the darkness envelop him. John Doe is a PHENOMENAL take on The Joker, allowing his origin to be “multiple choice” by way of the different decisions you can make and how it impacts the other people in the story. He’s a compelling, tragic figure (better done than the Joker movie in my book) that I think hits a lot of similar notes to Doc Ock in Marvel’s Spider-Man because, like in that game, you know you can’t stop his transformation but the story really makes you want to try.

I absolutely love telltale batman, it's probably my all time favourite incarnation of the character alongside "The Batman" cartoon from the 2000's and the Arkham games. I think one of the things which makes the nature of batman's actions as a white dude in a battle armor beating people up turn up so much is that it's very ambiguous concept thematically and has allowed for different writers to explore it in different ways. Sometimes for better... and for worse. So in some instances you get the development of Bruce Wayne as a person and within that, moments (in the better part of most cases) where he gets stripped of his tech and his wealth, and we get to see how he succeeds not just because he's a very skilled and resiliant person but also because he usually gets help from his allies and family that he has cultivated over the years as a good man and a leader, turning a very individualist idea of "the dark knight" into a healthier, more fullfilling spirit of achieving succes through community and family instead of brute force or gadgets. Other times tho, there's the other interpretation - which you can´t really say is _incorrect_ either, because then again, batman is a thematically ambiguous concept -, where Bruce is everything from a psycho, to a fascist, to an abuser. Also all of these have been written at some point by Frank Miller. You get the ocational de construction like in the Killer Joke, but then its stripped from its subtitly and gets milked like what happenned with Three Jokers. In my opinion, you can't really have Batman still exist without acknowledging what defines his character. In today's era, where capitalism is bringing the world down, systemic attacks against communities is at an all time-high and rich people get rich thanks to people's suffering, Batman simply cannot exist the same way he did back in the 40s. Yet that doesn´t mean he can´t still be _a hero_ . I believe the current run has reinvented him as a street vigilante going against the Gotham goverment which has turned into a police state, while Luke Fox (the son of the dude who is actually responsible for Bruce's tech in many iterations) takes up the official mantle, which i think is great and an interesting re start for the character.

I've played walking dead, wolf among us, and batman. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3. I really like a story focused game if it's done well. And I like tough moral choices.
