I was a member of the Diamond Band as a freshman (1981-82) and sophomore (1982-83), so my time just pre-dated the beginning of David’s tenure … I have had the honor of being PA announcer for my sons’ marching bands in NC and FL, as well as for the annual HS band festival in FL (for a decade) and for the semifinal rounds of the FMBC Championships in Florida, and now for the Tournament of Bands/Tournament Indoor Association Atlantic Coast Championships here in the Mid-Atlantic region … it IS a rush when helping to spotlight the wonderful performers in these ensembles, and I know some of the enjoyment David experiences … there IS NOTHING ELSE like it …
