Dude why do people think a loss in WImbledon final in a thrilling 5 set match with that brutal 3rd set game would mean it's over for Novak. THe guy had won 2/2 GS till then, lost the Wimbledon final and wasn't beaten easily and then went on to win the final slam. He's 36 and has won 3/4 GS and made 4/4 GS finals and beating guys 16 years his junior. Not just the GOAT of tennis but one of the greatest athletes in all of sport.

Djokovic was on an absolute mission in both Australia and the US this year to prove a point - you can't keep "The MAN" down and he was back on court. Played 4 tournaments across both continents and won every single match, with the little matter of 2 slams of course. But I have to say that the final in Cincinnati was my favourite match - what a message from Djokovic that he was out to create an epic rivalry! Idemo!

It's no secret that Djokovic has always been my all-time favourite tennis player even before he established himself as the GOAT. I think he's highly intelligent, a wonderful family man and a thoughtful and charitable person. He puts a lot of thought into his words and actions on and off the court. I believe his imitation of Shelton's celebratory gesture was intended to teach the young upstart a lesson in manners and proper etiquette. It's one thing to be confident but to be brash, arrogant and disrespectful is tasteless and unacceptable. Djokovic has certainly earned all the respect and accolades he receives from both his opponents and millions of his fans worldwide. Shelton would do well to come down several notches and take a page from Alcaraz's book to learn how to be humble and respectful toward all players, especially toward Djokovic, the Greatest Of All Time!

His greatness is at such level, that they are digging records from women tennis, and he's still smashing them. Men and women tennis is completely different sports, when he broke number 1 record for weeks at no 1 they brought in graff, he ending up smashing her record too. Now when he won most slams they started comparing with different women and he demolished those records, when he wins 25th will they compare him with wheelchair tennis? Novak is one of the goat athletes let alone just a tennis goat. What he has achieved with odds against him is remarkable very hard to put it into words. Simply amazing. The goat

If anything, that loss would actually fuel this guy even more the next time he faced Alcaraz again. Look what happened at Cincinnati final😂. And people forgot actually djokovic is leading their h2h this year 2-1. It's funny how 1 loss in a 5-set Wimbledon final makes people think Alacaraz is the favorite to win USO lol.

There are two specific situations in which media is allowed to cheer a tennis champion: 1- if you are black, it doesn’t matter the country you were from, better if it is a poor one. 2- if you are white, you must be from North America (except Mexico) or Western Europe. Any other situation you will be an underdog.

Shelton proved that he is arrogant little kid. According to people who were on the march that day (not verified), Shelton yelled to his dad on the other side of the court "this guy has no serve" (so Novak could hear him) and he stared Novak down on net after he won the game with ace. Also, what the camera did catch, he told his father regarding Novak "he's shading" (I don't know what that means, but it can't be something nice). Also prior to the match, he refused to call Novak by his name, instead referring to him as "that guy", and commented also something like that Novak is good, but also Novak plays him for the first time, I guess implying that Novak should be afraid of him or something... One more thing that doesn't relate to Novak, but it bothered me, is his comment regarding that crowd supports him against "foreigners", like the players outside of the United States are invaders, illegal immigrants or something. After the match, he was like, I lost but it's nothing because I'm still awesome and cool, so I'll be back. Now, compare that with Carlos' comments, where he commented he is still yet to mature... the difference in attitude between them is amazing. So yes, Novak probably felt a bit provoked and wanted to respond a bit, and he was gentle considering the bitchslapping he delivered to Shelton. And now everyone's like ohh Novak provokes, even Shelton's dad commented on this. I guess Shelton can provoke, but Novak can't.

The phone call from Nole is soo hilarious. It's poetic justice to what Ben had done to fellow American, Tiafoe. I think Nole like Tiafoe and just wanted to avenge him just a little against Ben by giving Ben a taste of his own medicine. Besides, I think Nole was irritated by Ben's college jock behavior on court, which is to annoy your opponent as much as possible which is inappropriate in in pro tennis. Nole looked badass doing it compared to Ben juvenile act of hanging up the phone on Tiafoe.

it unfair that one guy that riches 4 GS finals and wins 3... is not considered number 1 at the end of the year.. if Alkaraz manages to win minor tournaments and finish YE number 1... would look so weird... GS should worth more..

It should be noted that in the race for the year end at #1, Novak is only about 750 points ahead of Carlos. If Novak wants to end the year at #1, Carlos cannot win more than 750 points more than Novak, otherwise, Carlos finishes the year at #1 for the second consecutive year. In terms of live rankings, Novak is 3,300 points head of Carlos, but he has close to 3,000 points to defend, while Carlos has fewer than 500 points. In short, if Novak wants the year end at #1 for a record-extending 8th year, and wants to still be #1 until the 2024 Auatralian Open begins, he needs to win Paris Bercy and the ATP Final, since he will not be playing in Shanghai or defending his Tel Aviv or Astana points.

Djokovic was putting Shelton in his place as Shelton was being too cocky, and cheering his opponent's mistakes including missed serves too much, which is just poor sportsmanship. His phone thing is also stupid, and poor sportsmanship. I don't approve of Djokovic mocking him, but Shelton was asking for it. I hope it humbled him, but sadly his response suggested it hasn't.

Because of a certain DC Comics character, who is probably more famous than any tennis player, this is obviously a derogatory nickname. Who came up with it, I ask? Novak and his team or the media? Novac certainly has most of the best stats (aka the sum total of achievements) ever in tennis. That makes him the best of all time. Greatest? Well that is reserved for greatness. Not bestness. The expression does not go “better than the sum of the parts, or of the achievements… it is greater than the sum of the parts. Rafa and Roger, fiercely competitive as they are, always were gracious. Take a look at Novak in the match against Shelton as mentioned in this video - nothing gracious about any of it. It is more the behaviors of a bad boy bully on a power trip, having to resort to a more power play orientated style. That in itself is neither here not there, but is put into context with the celebration move at the end, which Shelton does. I’m open to ideas here, but it seems to me that the message Novac wanted to get across was that he wanted to not just beat Shelton at his own game and mocking him in a sarcastic, “claiming his scalp” use of Sheldon’s gesture, but is perhaps even deliberately done to serve to drive the point home even more on a psychological level that he intends to dominate. He wants to be the alpha, in a way Hollywood at least portrays crime bosses. Would also explain Fritz’s record and feelings about loosing against Novac in particular. Then there is the matter of the smashed rackets tally… Novak is certainly leading the big three on that stat as well, but it is less than brag worthy… 70(!) vs 5 for Fed and 0 for Rafa. There is definitely something else going on. Roger and Rafa seem more believably to be genuinely friendly people, where Novak plays the pretend game very well and also not really that available to fans and media as the rest.

Novak Totals of Major Records Novak 24. 96% Conners 1. 4% Roger. 1 4% Rafa 0 0% Novaks accomplishments are astonishing when you consider the fact that both Roger & Rafa have had TEN significant advantages to help them over Novak in their careers. The so called “objective” experts, analysts, commentators and media fail to mention this. Both Roger & Rafa grew up in privileged and affluent environments in Switzerland and Spain with proper facilities to learn and train. Novak grew in a poor war torn country with almost no facilities to learn or train. In fact his parents had to schedule his training to avoid constant bombing raids. Both Roger & Rafa had easy & soft childhoods with little or no pressure place on them in their affluent environments. Novak grew up poor and his parents invested all they had for his career. Novak knew at an early age tennis for him was a duty, not simply a privilege or for fun. He fully understood before he was a teenager the massive weight place on his shoulders of his whole family on him to succeed in his pro career Both Roger & Rafa started 5 & 2 years before Novak, which gave both of them a big head start start and many more tournaments to pad their records in the race for GOAT. Both Roger & Rafa had the the billion dollar industry of the big sponsors pushing the narratives of them being the best. Both Roger & Rafa had the backing of the TV commentators to continue to push the narrative of them being the best. Both Roger & Rafa had the backing of the Internet analysts to promote them. Novak was generally shunned most of his career Both Roger & Rafa had the backing of the court-side fans. During his entire career, anytime Novak played against Roger or Rafa, 90-98% of the crowds favored them over Novak. In fact, the hostile crowds many times constantly tried to harass, taunt, and disrupt Novak during course of his matches against both Roger & Rafa. The draws have been fixed to favor Roger & Rafa over Novak. Here are the facts. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGe4gZRqoZmLpNU Rogers era of competition was far weaker then Novaks. Simply look at the facts. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5XTY32dptt7jLt9 10. Both Roger & Rafa have had to compete only against opponents on the other side of the net. In addition to competing with Opponents, Novak has had to compete against the Sponsers, announcers, ATP, commentators, fans, governments etc. Inspite of Novak not being allowed tp play many Majors & Masters, and the facts he has been been cheated out of many weeks #1 by freezing the rankings and losing 2000 points by winning Wimbledon, he still has 96% of the significant records. Novak slammed the door on both Rogers and Rafas last chance to be considered the GOAT when he beat Roger at 2019 Wimbledon and Rafa at 2021 Rolland Garros. The media, commentators and the billion dollar sponsors have pushed the false narrative for 15 years that when it came to the GOAT…. Roger was the chosen one Rafa was the hopeful one. In spite of their false narrative, Novak is the only one! They can arrest him They can incarcerate him They can deport him They can disqualify him They can steal his ranking They can steal his points They can freeze his points They can forbid him from playing They can slander him They can lie about him They can taunt him They can harass him But no one can stop him. No one! For any delusional Fedal fans who still think their boy is the best, answer these questions….. How can Roger be the GOAT when…. 1. He has a losing record against Novak & Rafa He has 90 less weeks #1 then Novak He has never won two of the Masters, Novak has won them all twice He has won 11 less Masters then Novak He has never won against Novak at a Wimbledon final He has two less years #1 then Novak He has lost four matches to Novak 40-15 holding double Match points He has not won all Slams twice. Novak does He has 14 less big titles then Novak He has never won 4 straight Slams. Novak has He has lower ATP peak ranking then Novak He has lower ELO peak ranking then Novak He has only 7 Slam finals wins vs Big 4. Novak has 14 He has a 1-4 losing record at Grand slam finals to Novak He has not beaten Novak at a major in10 years He has not beaten Novak at a Major final in 15 years He has won only 12 of the big titles. Novak has won all 14 He has never beaten Novak at AO final. Novak beat him Wim 3 times He has lost four matches up double Match point 40-15 to Novak He has not won 75 match at all Majors. Novak has 8 times He has a losing record to Novak in finals 6-14 He has a losing record against Novak in YEC. 0-3 He has a losing record against Novak in Major finals 1-4 He has less ITF year end championships then Novak How can Rafa be the GOAT when…. He has a losing record against Novak He has never won the YEC. Novak won it 6 times He has never won two of the Masters. Novak won them all twice He has lost 7 straight finals to Novak He has 180 less at weeks #1 then Novak He has not beaten Novak or won a set on a harcourt in 10 years He has never beaten Novak at the AO. Novak has lost only 3 He has won three straight Majors 1 time. Novak has won 3 times He has not a 80% win ratio on all surfaces. Novak does. He has a lower win % vs top ten players then Novak He has won fewer big titles then Novak He lost all but 1 epic slams to Novak He has reached 6 finals at only 1 major. Novak has at all 4 He has lost 7 straight matches to Novak 2 times He has won only 11 of the big titles. Novak’s has won all 14 twice He has longest winning streak of only 32 matches . Novak at 43 He has not 75 wins at all Majors like Novak has He has 50 less wins then Novak against top ten opponents 181-231 He has less titles then Novak He has less majors then Novak He has less masters then Novak He has less big titles then Novak Many people including the so called experts and commentators point to only ONE RECORD, Majors, in forming an opinion who is the GOAT. This is foolish, close minded and misguided since Majors account for only 20% of a players career. If a person insists on using just one record to determine the GOAT, then weeks #1 is a much better stat since it accounts for 100% of a players career. Also, it is far more difficult to become #1 then to win a Major. In the open era, 51 players have won Majors and only 26 players of become #1. A player has to play very well for two weeks to win a Major yet has to play very well for a whole year to become #1
