Tens of thousands protest across Germany after far-right party’s mass deportation meetings

More than 100,000 people turned out across Germany on Saturday in protest against the far-right Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party.
The protests began after it emerged AfD party members had attended meetings with neo-Nazis and other extremists to discuss the mass deportation of migrants, asylum seekers and German citizens of foreign origin deemed to have failed to integrate. Protests were held in about 100 locations across Germany from Friday through the weekend, including in Berlin on Sunday.

Its called "Wehrhafte Demokratie". It is a kind of democracy, which "protects" itself from people/parties, whose goal it is to destroy or disregard the rules of the democracy (the AfD in this case). If a party is identified as a threat to the democracy (if it craves unlawful or anti-democratic goals(especially article 1)), it can legally ban or discontinue funding for the party. The people in the video are protesting for legal action to be taken against the party.

Who defines what "far right" is? Why is the wish to preserve the culture of your country "far right"? So does this mean that if you do not wish to destroy the homogeneity that fostered the success of your country, you are unreasonably extreme? We hear the right say in America that "All the left wants is to destroy, and history demonstrates their success at this." I have kept an open mind, researching, and observing both sides, and the right is correct about this. It appears that the left chooses emotion, while the right chooses reason. It is not rational to bring into a harmonious society those whose differences in mindset and culture will sow division. Why would a rational person see the need to alter what has worked for centuries? As the common sense saying goes, "if it isn't broken, don't fix it." What surprises me the most is that the left is still blinded by their emotions, not seeing the recent harm such diverse immigration has caused, not only for their own country, but countries throughout Europe. The facts are undisputed, but without reason, facts have no purpose. The left sees immigration equivalent to saving a stray kitten. They will never see the harm in such an emotional rewarding behavior, regardless of reason. This isn't about empathy, with one side being more empathic than the other; it's about blindness. Those who oppose this immigration have empathy as well, but they see the harm to their many citizens, including future generations, and this is where their empathy lies.

I was there yesterday. My town has a bit over 100 000 inhabitants, and 12 000 were on the street. It was a peaceful atmosphere, people of all ages were there. I saw young school children and nursery home residents in wheelchairs. It was freezing cold and very slippery, and I believe that more people would have come if the weather had been better.
