The owner of this car gets it. He really made a smart build. High, reliable power and modern-ish suspension and dash. I like it. I graduated HS in 2002, the fox body was popular back then but At the time I thought they were ugly. I have to say now though, for a 27 year old car they are aging very well. The clean and simple lines are somehow refreshing today.

I enjoyed the video and I really like the car. One thing I need to disagree with you on and that is "these cars were hated when they came out because they didn't resemble a Mustang". I was around these cars in the late 80s, and I promise you they were not hated, at least not by the masses anyway. The Foxbody Mustang 5.0 was embraced very well and loved by many and extremely popular. I often got thumbs up in mine from many people including the Grand National guys. You have to remember these cars reignited performance back into the Mustang after replacing the anemic Mustang II. The Foxbody Mustang is responsible for pioneering Electronic Fuel Injection performance and helped pave the road for future high performance Mustangs. Many of today's high performance part companies owe their success to the popularity of the Foxbody Mustang. It wasn't until around 2005 when the S197 body style came out is when I started noticing the negativity against the Foxbody styling. Many people were happy the original Mustang styling was back. However recently the Fox has started gaining it's popularity back and I think they're only going to get more popular as they age.

I bought a 90 LX back in 93. Put over 230000 miles on it. All I did to it was 3:55 gears a Hurst shifter, Flow Masters and a JET Chip. It was a daily driver and I raced it at a drag strip a few times and did a performance driving school at the Sebring track back in 94. I retired it to the back yard when I bought an 06 GT in Sept 05. Still have the 06 and a 2010 F150 4X4. I want to do a complete restoration on my 90LX and what I had in mind is just about the same as this Fox Body . I think I saw a Florida tag on it and a lot of pine trees which looks like you may be in north Florida. If so , I would sure like to take a personal look at that car.

it's nice. I like that they chose a notchback platform instead of the fastback. Also you said the foxes weren't popular but you were a bit off there; the fairmount was popular as was the Capri and that was the beginning of the fox. The Mustang foxbodies were extremely popular with their five litre engines that Vanilla Ice rapped about. The reason that so many drag cars are built from fox body platforms today is because the shells are cheap, light, sturdy and plentiful -- if you crack it up at the track you almost worry more about the internals than the chassis itself. Ford certainly made a ton of foxbodies (I had two foxes myself in the 90's but neither were mustangs -- an 87 thunderbird turbo couple and a 97 Thunderbird LX.
