Never judge a book by it's cover and I know what conditions OME test their shocks under. The Australian outback is unforgiving and if your equipment fails you die. It's what's on the inside that matters and fancy paint and graphics don't mean a thing if ain't got swing.

Your conclusion seems to say that terrafirma are as good if not better than ome!!!........terrafirma are cheaper for a reason. The build quality of tf is shocking! I I fitted my tf's on my series 2 discovery and after 6 months the outer surface was completely rusted. The ride quality was very "crash bang". Im lucky to still have my teeth after having the tf's on my truck for 8 months. I had to return them to the supplier under warranty....because they were completely crap!!! Having now fitted old man emu's now, the difference is amazing! Far better build quality...on the outside, but more importantly the internals of the shock...where it really matters.

After so many years of running Bilsteins, I'm gradually switching to TerraFirma. I think the front shocks I have are the same as shown in the video. After about 25kmi, they seem to be... awesome! They seem to be pretty much as stiff - or soft? - as Bilsteins, but the bushings are nearly guaranteed to outlast the Bilsteins'. One set of OME Nitrochargers I had was way too soft for a street-driven truck.

I've had alot of shocks with a various lift kits and I must say Old Man Emu has always out performed anything I've had except Bilstien's and that was pretty much a draw. I'll take OME anyday.

I've got OME Nitro Charger's on my 2001 Disco. Very firm and comfortable ride with no sag at all with my added steel bumpers, steel runners and a winch. Love em!

Good informative answer for my research phase, thanks! :) Considering OME Nitro Chargers right now. I think my Defender has original Land Rover dampers right now, and I don't think they totally need to be replaced, but my springs definitely do, and so I thought they've probably been on there forever so might as well go with new dampers too. It's a hard ride right now. I've got a winch and huge bumper, and I have a pair of new Heavy Duty Britpart springs, do you think they would go well with the Nitro Chargers? Or should I go for standard springs with the Nitro Chargers. I also have the Defender half Overland style with quite some weight on, that means Mantek Roof Bars with a car box on top with some camping gear in it + a windsurf board on the side. Would be happy to get some insights from you and everyone!

I am looking forward to chaging my original shock absorbers on my Disco 2 of the same year of yours with OME nitrochargers but as I don´t do regularly hard core all terrain am not going to change springs. I don´t know if this is what you have done . I see that you indicate that is a much firmer ride but confortable, so if you could clarifiy if on everyday use it is much firmero on the normal problems one encounters on the streets like porholes and regular bumps or on all terrain applications

I've been running with Terrafirma pro sports for over a year now and can't complain, a comfortable ride on road and more than capable off-road, the outer body is also holding up well. I've never had OME shocks so can't compare.

there's 2 tests for an off-road vehicle shock absorber: Is it still providing controlled damping after a couple of hundred kilometres of hard driving in hot conditions on rough un-sealed roads? And: is it still providing controlled damping after several years of hard driving on rough un-sealed roads?

The viewer of the video would be left thinking Terrafirma is the way to go, but I can tell you from real world experience selling both brands that OME is far more reliable. With longer applications now available, even if going a dislocation setup, OME is the way to go. Terrafirma is fine, but definitely better known for the other components that make over their Shocks and Springs being any good.
Final muy increíble 😱
