Beautiful hunting spot. Love the crotal bell, the button with glass, the lead weight and of coarse that silver coin the best. So much history in your area, you regularly find medieval and roman items while I get excited over a 1940s Mercury dime here.

+byerd1962 hello! I'm happy to hear that you like the site and the finds I made there. It's a great place and I enjoy every second there! europe has a long and exciting history and of course one can make stunning finds here. but your 1940s mercury dime is a great find too if you put it into relation to the age of your country. it's absolutely justified to get excited about it. thank you for watching my videos! all the best, GL&HH! hans

I just found your channel. Thank you for such a high quality product and beautiful experience. I lived in Germany when I was 8-12 years old, 1971 - 75. I miss the beautiful serene forests and countryside. My Mother's family originated in Waldburg. Her maiden name is Von Waldburg. I would love to come to Germany once again and bring a metal detector to her family's old manor house location in the village of Waldburg.
@TerraGermaniaTG7 жыл бұрын
hello! welcome on my channel! thank you for watching and for your kind words about my videos! your mother comes from an old aristocratic family. In case you ever come back to germany make sure to contact the department of archaeology before you detect the manor. we have strict detecting laws in germany. all the best and pleaes stay tuned, hans
@vigilante0047 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the recommendation. I understand that some Von Waldburg family still live in the Castle in Waldburg. There are other Palaces associated with the name as well in Eastern Germany or old Prussia, I believe. I'll try to contact you as well, maybe you'd like to help dig up some old family jewels.

Fantastic photography as usual and what a beautiful location, had a giggle when you found the silver coin after you thought it might only be trash being so shallow but location has no rhyme or reason. Just yesterday I found two predecimal Australian silver coins in excellent condition a 1960 Florin and a 1928 Three pence about six kilometres apart and the latter was a surface find. I have lots of them but they're not found everyday unlike trash being so common everywhere. Looking forward to your next hunt and cheers from downunder.

Good Lord, Germans are such inspired people, and why not! Such beautiful country! I have to start keeping notes to keep up with you! The buckle piece, the fragment, I don't think it is, it is far too thin, yes? I think it may be a decoration for a saddle or saddle bag, say at the corner of the flap. The bell was beautiful, your hands were shaking, Ha! what a find! I am going to do some searching here for your button with glass or gem top. I'm a Research Analyst, so I will see if I can help... you believe it is Roman, yes? The scarab beetle at the end....I did a little scream, I'll admit.... I will not admit, that I almost dropped my coffee, when I realized what it was. Ha! Thank you Hans, for taking me along... You are a tall drink of water aren't you.... (American for, you're tall.) Also, another American expression.... when coming from a larger road to a narrow one is called a "bottleneck" but "eye of the needle" describes it quite nicely as well. Take Care and Best, Anna...

Addison hello anna, haha. . .thank you :) It's truly a wonderful place I'm detecting there. . .It's so remote and you can spend a whole day in the woods without seeing one human being! very relaxing! the buckle is indeed very thin. . you could be right with your assumptions of it's purpose. I can imagine that it is a hat buckle. . they had to be very thin to safe weight. thank you for your offer to do some research on the button. . they are not roman that's for sure. I think they could also be cufflinks. haha. . sorry to scare you with the beetle! I know what they do for a living but even though they are beautiful creatures in my opinion :) thank you for your english lessons! Excellent video and some beautiful camerawork again Hans. I've said it before and I'll say it again - you make by far the best detecting videos on KZbin. Loved the crotal bell. I have only ever found one of those and that is super rare for my county. As soon as you get further south into Yorkshire and Lincolnshire they are quite common so I would be over the moon to find another one here. GL&HH

+Pondguru Outdoors hallo richard, thank you very much for your kind and flattering words, I'm glad you like my videos and the camerawork. I've found 3 of the so far and here in my area they are as rare as in your neck of the woods. for a long time I knew them only from uk detecting videos :D thank you for watching!! GL&HH! hans

Aye I'll say it again too Richard, fabulous viewing,we have that type of tranquility at our summerhouse, just like Ebchester ;)
@pondguru7 жыл бұрын
It's damn cold in Ebchester today but spring is on the way. How does the weather compare in Poland? We've been cutting trees out of our place and clearing brambles off the banksides to open the place up - will probably video that soon.

Not a bad winter, lowest temp was - 16, but generally bareable, it's up to 11 degrees at the moment, last May was boiling, we are hoping it's going to be the same this year, Our apartment has a fabulous amount of sunshine all day :)

Sun makes such a difference to energy levels and it's good to hear you get proper winters and proper summers - ours are becoming one long drag from wet to less wet seasons, lol

Hi Hans, what a beautiful place this forest is :-) You surprising me every time finding some really good stuff like the crotal bell and the silver coin. The projectile you mentioned looks not really like one and I never saw one like this. It could be a "Spinnwirtel" or a button. All the best to you my friend! Paul
