Zebras would kill babies to get to the mom, cheetahs chill with baby prey till the mom comes back looking for it for a 2 for 1 combo. Some species of birds will destroy eggs, nests, chick's while the parents are away so they can move thoer eggs in or get to the mom. Animals are just as devious most the time they arnt point blank with their intentions some play the long game too.

To: Karla - I doubt Vila was in real danger. Most of the 'displaying' would be 'slapping' or 'posturing'. The zoo only proceeded to integrate after she and Kiki were previously introduced to the other members of the troop. They appeared satisfied that all was, and went, well.

If you bring a chimp into an organized troop of chimps they will kill it because they know it’s not part of their group. In the wild they literally rip each other apart and eat each other and babies trying to erase a troop completely. So the female could’ve been abandoned and if they just release her in the wild she will get ripped apart. She has a better chance of surviving here then in the wild. Not to mention the other animals that’ll eat her if she’s caught alone.
