This actually reminds me of ppf'ng my phone. Verify similar process in a very small scale. You wet it, you stretch it, you squeegie it, etc. etc. I thought that was a pain in the butt but it gave me the idea of exactly how ppf works and how you stretch and squeegie, etc. etc. and how to mold the ppf accordingly. But it's good to see your videos. Keep it up. I am still waiting for the model Y version.

This looks like an amazingly well thought kit. Even the spray bottles included are top notch and not the dollar store variety - if you are not in the know, it makes a difference. For me there are too many separate pieces which creates seams/gaps but I understand this was done for sake of installation ease for the beginner.

Excellent follow up to your earlier video. I have a model Y on order. I had selected Tesbros for many of the reasons you did. Black Friday sale pushed me to act, and the kit is in my garage awaiting the car.

Looks like it came out pretty good! Post an update once it cures. I had my M3 done by a local shop last month, they did the tint and the PPF. I don’t think I’m as brave as you with these projects!

I’m still waiting on my LR-7 Model Y, but got front bumper PPF kit from Drive Protected. Your kit looks pretty good. I’m worried that because your kit is cut up more, that my kit will be harder to install.. We’ll see soon enough!🤞🤞🤞
@FrugalTeslaGuy2 жыл бұрын
I’m fortunate enough I’ve done both and can tell you the TESBROS one is much easier because of the cuts but also because of their extensive tutorials. Good luck!

Great video. Any issue on connecting each piece together. I am a little bit worry about each connection will become darker due to dust traps in there.

Great Vid. Do you think you could do a video on how to maintain a charge when parking a Tesla 3 for many days without access to a charger? I recently returned from a family cabin trip with no practical access to charge. After a few days I noticed I was losing about 20 miles per day. I then turned off sentry mode, which helped. I ended up turning off my app, and had success ending most of the drain. I did have to take a run into Tahoe to use a supercharger in order to head back to Sacramento. Without the energy drain, I could have used the car for a few excursions to trailheads and then back to Sacramento without the detour to Tahoe.

Thanks for your review i am looking to get similar kit in the future, because the bumper and fender had individual pieces, can the seams lines be visible? My concern cutting these into pieces will make dirt and grime collected between them and visible through time.

Thought we weren't supposed to be washing vehicles at home, due to California's extreme drought? But do you think getting this kit is worth it on a car that’s almost 4 years old and already has some front end nicks? I’ve been waiting 2 years to hear back from them about a blackout kits that fully wraps the door handles, because I don’t want to see chrome when using the handle.
@tesbros2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, I'm sorry to hear that. Yes, we do have blackout kits that fully wrap the door handles - tesbros.com/products/door-handle-wrap - Is this what you're referring to?

I’m curious about the visibility of the seams. Looking at PPF butt edges might be just as annoying as the occasional rock chip. What do you think? Are the seams visible? Thanks
@FrugalTeslaGuy2 жыл бұрын
The seams are visible but really only when you’re looking for them. Sometimes they are more visible or vice versa based on the lighting. To me, the barely visible seams are well worth the benefits of protecting your paint.

I would never try this altho I want it, but there has to be people who can do this for you?

You could take it to a shop, but it'll just cost a good bit more. This kit is made for people who want to do it themselves!

Did you have any issues with road rash on the front end preventing you from applying? Any suggestions?
@FrugalTeslaGuy2 жыл бұрын
Not really. You can get most of it off with a good degreaser. Bug and tar remover does the trick for me.
@badmonkey29172 жыл бұрын
I would any day still use a pro detailing studio doing this. Yea it cost a bit more but you get years of guarantees at the job and product. I have full ppf on my 2019 3p and on my 2022 Yp. On the model 3 the product is still very good. Why not protect the hole car. No point having a perfect bumper if the side, channel’s or back of the car looks bad.
