Good job. I appreciate that you actually went through the exercise of putting it on and taking a test drive. I just Amazon purchased this Stance Magic spare ($344) instead of the better known Modern Spare version ($499). Besides a clear price advantage, the Stance Magic’s scissor jack incorporates the all-important nob from a Tesla jack pad. I hope this nob is removable just in case there’s not enough ground clearance with it attached.

Thank you! Yes, the nob slides out and removable. However, note that IF you happen to have a zero psi on your flat tire the clearance between a flat ground and underneath of car is about 3.5". The resting or retracted height of this scissor jack even without the nob is almost 4". That means there is not enough room to wedge the jack down there. We'll, that's the worse scenario. Anyway, I just always carry plastic RV yellow jack pads in my Y. I can always rollover the yellow pads to give me additional clearance needed to wedge the jack underneath. On my long trips, I also carry my 1.5T rapid pump floor jack which only weighs 33 lbs.

Btw, it is really nice to have a spare tire. 3 weeks ago, had my 2nd flat tire. Spare tire to the rescue! I was able to install it and take the full size tire to a tire shop.

Where and how do you store this spare in the model y? This is in case going for longer trips

The jack and wrench I store in the rear trunk. I have seven seater (in case I need the extra seats) and I usually lay it flat in the rear area behind second row seats. Some times, I wedge it upright behind the second and third row seats. There are a few posts from a Model Y forum wherein they have modified the trunk area to hide the spare tire! This was on a 5-seater. It is a great idea because you wouldn't know the tire is underneath. I have not tackle that project yet coz I have a 7-seater. I might utilize the roof rack if I need to haul up to six passengers.
