Gas savings is a well known PRO for EVs, but higher insurance premiums for EV, especially for Tesla is rarely mentioned as a CON at those EV vs. ICE comparisons.

Have you compared the insurance rates for the two? In my area, Y is significantly higher than GLC with the same coverage.

All the US reviews that feature a GLC seem to be mild hybrid. Here in Europe, we seem to only be able to get the 300e; which is plug-in hybrid with about 60-70 miles of EV range. Not at $47000, though; they start at $75000, including sales tax.

Pretty sure the Model Y also has independent rear suspension. Also there aren't really in the same class. If I option out a GLC (non Coupe) the way I would want it then it would run closer to 75K. It would be much more luxurious than the top Tesla Model Y but in a whole different league price wise. Add the additional running costs and you just have a different animal. Not a bad one just different. Too bad they don't offer the inline 6 on the GLC. You have to step up to the GLE for that.

What absolutely sucks about the Mercedes is the 4cyl turbo and now its a mild hybrid. Lomg term unreliable and repairs will be expensive.

There’s a bed & pillow in the back of my Model Y Performance and it goes 0-60mph in 3.7s. It’s also cheaper to purchase & maintain. Mercedes is irrelevant in comparison.
