I found that if you googled EV water pump there are so many identical looking pumps why could we not use one of these to replace the failing cabin pump . Or just open up the pump and coat the board in conforming coating to protect the PCB . We need a video of a tear down of the pump because it could be the video that's saves people hundreds of not thousands

@ There is a video showing how to repair the pump. It’s on my todo list to make one too. As far as other pumps - there may be some that work but it has to be the same inflow/outflow direction, connector, and possibly the firmware/PCB.

Thx Matt, good overview and perspective. I received my FOS in Feb and I think the loss of Warranty is the biggest source of angst by far, that is the one thing that makes me regret my decision to buy more than anything. But we play with the cards we're dealt........

When you wondered if this channel should continue after learning Fisker had bailed out on the owners. My comment was that it would be a noble act on your part to carry on. And I honestly believe you are doing a fantastic job. Don’t what the future will hold, let’s just enjoy the car. It is indeed a beauty. BTW, if you want to use a simple dash cam, I can share with you how I lay out the line over the top. It really integrates nicely with the car.

Thanks, I'm getting a new dash cam to review soon. I don't know if you saw my recent two part series on carplay screens, but I also run two different wiring paths in those videos. I'm used to running wiring around my car, since that's what I've been doing on my Tesla for six years now.

There is a service center in my area so I will be getting the cooling pump recall done. As for the door handles I am hoping to get the parts for future use as mine are all fine. From what I have heard the cooling pumps mostly fail in areas where there is more humidity and/or salt in the air. I'm in Arizona so, probably, less likely to fail BUT I'll get that done for sure in a week or 2. I may, pro-actively do the 12v swap using the procedure you recommened to keep the Ocean powered to not loose the doggie windows which work on my Ocean.

I appreciate all you do to support the Fisker Owners community. Lately, I’ve noticed cracking in the interior finish on my driver’s side door, near the handle/pull area. Wondering if you’ve seen this also, and wondering what you’ve done to treat it?

Thanks! I have heard a few people have this issue with the door handle. It's almost like the top layer is peeling off. One suggestion is putting a piece of PPF over it. I haven't seen the problem, but I'll be looking for other ways to deal with it. I see you got some answers on the FOA discussion board.

I do agree now that this vehicle should have shipped out with 2.2. Don’t know if I’ll say that with a 2.4 or 2.8 or 3.0. I say this because 2.2 makes this vehicle look pretty darn good…fewer errors if any at all, smooth regen, seamless Bluetooth connectivity, responsive key fob, normal chirping when locking/unlocking and more. What a difference it would have made if the vehicle wasn’t rushed out to market.

I appreciate all your help and your positive attitude! I still have the “Break failure message” every time I start the car ( I am on 2.1) Does the message disappear with the 2.2 update?

The Brake message has been since I got the car with 1.10. From what a tech explained to me, it's due to the order of system module polling when the car starts up. So it's not really problem - more like a false alarm. I don't know why they haven't been able to adjust it so that doesn't happen.

Can you connect Spotify via Bluetooth and listen or use the google navigation like that? Is the water pump fixed in your car? How was it fixed?

Spotify is built into the music apps, so you don't need Bluetooth. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question. I'm using Google maps on the Carplay device now, but it only shows on the separate screen, not on the car's display. No, I haven't done the water pump recall fix yet.

I haven't had adas and fipilot since my car was downgraded from 2.1 to 2.0. Now on 2.2 and no lane assist, no adas, no nothing. I think eveyrhing got screwed up when it forced an up date while my car was charging at the office. Fisker rollout still a disaster

It sounds like a module did not update correctly. You will probably need a tech to go through all the modules and update any that have issues.

Thank you, excellent video. 12 V batteries should last at least four years, usually. Is there really a need to replace your 12 V battery in the next few months? May be wait and see, testing it every few months. I hope good things are on the horizon. Who knows, may be with a new private company, production can be restarted. I love the design. But anyone working on this would have to be very careful so they can be successful and profitable with the business.

12 V batteries tend to die quickly on EVs. I'm on my third one for my six year old Tesla.

@@MTNRanger Those really should last longer. I've had EVs also for years and the 12 V batteries have lasted normally a minimum of 4 years. But I mainly reside in the SE USA so that might make a difference, since the average temperatures are higher year-round when compared with the northern USA area. If you leave things plugged into the car including special screens or other hardware, that might contribute to the problem you've been having. This is especially true for anything not Fisker or Tesla OEM plugged directly into the 12 V battery.

@@movingforward20 I suppose it depends on the EV and how lucky you are. But it's very common for 12V batteries to need early replacement for EVs. I'm lucky if my ICE 12V last for four to five years. I should be due for the Volvo soon.

The Tesla Model Y AWD and I know of others too, including the Chevrolet Bolt where the 12 V battery lasted at least 4 years. Some of those are in climates where it snows too. But I think they were careful to connect accessories like cell phone chargers only with the vehicles fully ready / when driving. I hope that helps you.

@@movingforward20 no way. Lead acid 12v batteries are totally unsuited for EVs. Typically they are lasting 12-15 months across the board in all brands of EV not equipped with an AGM battery. Even non EVs are seeing OEM batteries fail in a similar window. The days of new cars coming with 36 month batteries ended long ago. They come with 12 month batteries, so either be proactive or keep your AAA number handy.
