Here in Brazil the Air Force still uses the F-5 as a front line fighter since the retirement of the Mirages. However it is a modernized version, called F-5 M, which includes a glass cockpit and modern avionics supplied by Israel.

I always enjoy your high quality video's. Did you do a video on how you record and edit your video's? For example: I would like to know how you make the manual and other pages pop up on screen. And do you fly, talk and record at the same time or do you first fly, then record a replay and do a voiceover?

Hi, I really like the approach that you use to learn a new plane ... I will try to imitate you whenever I get a new module :) I'm from Chile, where our Air Force still uses the F-5E, even tough they have been modernized by Israel and even have a refueling probe. Do you know if there is a skin for DCS's F-5 with Chile's livery? Anyway, thanks a lot for this video series ... you have a very clear voice which helps a lot to those of us who are not english native speakers :)

Me sorprende saber que de hecho la version original no tenia sonda de repostaje, y que se le añadiera como parte del paquete de modificaciones de la Israel Aircraft Industries. Antiguamente los f-5 los tenian desplegados en Punta Arenas (mi ciudad) y Antofagasta, de Punta Arenas los retiraron con la llegada del f-16, siguen en Antofagasta?

English: Hi, actually the refueling probe wasn't made by IAI ... it was the work of the "Tiger Century" company of the USA, a contract of US$ 5 million to put the probe on 16 F-5E during the 1997-98 period. Regarding their current location, I understand that they are still based at Punta Arenas, belonging to Group 12, operating with the 12-13 remaining aircraft of this type that still survive. Isn't the RL Tiger II capable of handling AiM-7E Sparrows? I thought that a basic Tiger 2 A2A loadout was 2 AiM-9's, 2 AiM-7's, ans either 1-3 drop tanks??

Are the interiors of American military aircraft really so similar? I mean, the standard instruments and engine instruments in this plane look exactly like the ones in the DCS A-10C, and just in general, the F-86, A-10C, and F-5E seem to have a similar look and feel around the switches and layouts.

Actually yes, and you could see the same with russian aircraft; the standarization is meant to ease the training and familarity with the aircraft; only in some cases (factory differences) do the cockpits have distinct layouts

Hi i'd like to know how you achieve respectable fps in the oculus (i have the vive). I come across alot of stutter when I look around and when i get more complicated aircraft like the mig 21. I have 16g of ram, i7 4770k, 1080.

I feel greatly intimidated with the amount of acronyms, processes and procedures that go in to simulating at the level you're doing it - are there any resources that you would suggest or advice that you could give to assist in understanding some of the information that goes in to high level simulation the way that you're doing it? Is RL source material from the FAA the place to start? I want to understand the deeper processes and I want to "get" the science of what goes in to all of this.

Actually yeah, FAA materials are a good place to start not that I try to do "aviation" by the book. All I really try to get right are aircraft systems and operation so the "-1" and "-34" manuals linked in the description are what I read most.
