It is thought that Queen Elizabeth cause of death may have been bone cancer, which is a very common cause of death when you are quite old like her. Old age itself doesn't cause death, but the combination of multiple physiological factors that comes with age which includes heart problems, dementia, autoimmune conditions, etc. are the actual cause of death by "old age". I do believe Queen Victoria also passed away peacefully in her sleep after a stroke, she was surrounded by most of her family members.

Yes Edward II was killed by the new regime but by his former wife and her new lover Mortimer. It is widely rumoured that the cause of death was actually rather gruesome, he was held down whilst a red hot poker was inserted into his shall we say posterior. The future king however avenged his father with harsh retribution as he captured Mortimer and his mother and took the former apart dreadfully and if memory serves then banished his mother. Our great history though gruesome at times is so rich, interesting, thought provoking and must be taught to proper fact not twisted to suit others.

@@KG-gg5pj you're in luck then, cause the red hot poker story is completely fictional. It was invented much later, no contemporary source reports anything like that. Most sources of the time don't go into detail at all, simply stating that he died at Berkeley Castle. A rather compelling theory however is that he wasn't murdered at all. It has been suggested that he did in fact manage to escape and lived out his life in Italy as a hermit. A lot of circumstantial evidence points to this conclusion. I can elaborate if you wish.
