As a person from central Europe, I can tell you that sweet-filled dumplings are a pretty normal lunch here :) We usually fill them with jam, cream cheese, nuts, various fresh fruits, sometimes even nutella. But I have to admit, it made me smile seeing you this excited over sweet dumplings. For me personally, it's usually "I'm giving up" lunch when we go to a typical local restaurant, because being a vegetarian who cannot eat fried foods, sweet dumplings are usually the only thing on the menu I can actually order :D
@dawnmagee33542 жыл бұрын
My Grandparents came here from Poland. We always have fruit pierogi on holidays. Usually blueberry. We also had cheese and potato, minced meat, and sauerkraut. Pierogi are a lot of work but that machine looks helpful.
@zdenkakarlikova26312 жыл бұрын
Here in Czechia, we're more into the sweet ones, although smoked meat is a pretty common filling too, with a side of either sauerkraut or puréed spinach. Concerning fruits, it's mainly about what season it is at the moment. Lots of strawberries in the garden? Strawberry dumplings! Same goes for apricots, cherries, blueberries and plums :)

The little squeegee measuring cup is amazing for solid oil measurement like crisco or coconut oil. It's also really good for pumpkin when making pumpkin pie or whatever! Just sticky viscous things that are a pain to measure! I used to have one, but it was like 20 years old so the silicon seal hardened and cracked haha.

My husband and I bought the bartesian for our wedding and rehearsal dinner. The bartender loved it and it was way cheaper then having the bartender have all the ingredients to make the variety of drinks we wanted. It was a true blessing at the rehearsal dinner as well. As someone said below you have to clean it frequently if you are going to stop using it for any period of time. It’s not something that an average person is going to need.

I have one of those adjustable measuring things that's at least 30 years old. I mainly use it to measure squishy things like peanut butter and shortening because you can see if you've got air bubbles. Then you just push it out instead of trying to scoop it back out of a measuring cup. It's also fun to make really precise cookies; push it down to the 2 tablespoon mark, fill with cookie dough and scrape across the top to make it smooth, then push up the bottom and use a butter knife to slice off a perfect disk of a cookie onto your baking sheeting.

I would recommend a food scale to nearly anyone who is measuring food often. I can make an entire recipe without dirtying any measuring cups. I also LOVE it when I’m making things with peanut butter because I just plop it in and only get the stirring knife dirty, rather than needing a measuring cup and a scraper. I splurged for scale that has decimal places even when measuring grams, but you can get one in nearly every price range. Check the reviews to see if it has the features you want. (For example: continuous glass surface for easy clean up, digital display for visual accessibility, or a place to read the measurement that isn’t covered by large bowls if you bake a lot.) Thank you for this video, I love kitchen gadgets! 💖
