How was your hatch rate?

Not good it has been vary Busy around here and I haven’t had a chance to make a video. One hatched out of the round. It was one of the ones in the middle of the incubator. I wonder if that egg blocks the air from the other eggs in the incubator hard to tell. Thanks for watching

@@cheaphomesteading interesting, it could be, i have a main incubator that i use but im looking for an incubator that i can remove eggs from my main one to use for lockdown since the eggs in my main were put in at varying times, in this instance do you think the small 7 egg incubator or this one would be better for that particular application?

To review and incubator you need an accurate thermometer to test the its ability to hold stable temperature. No problem if one needs to calibrate a bit at the beginning (this ability is a must of course) . But temp with its stability is what does the hatch.

Do you have any updates? I saw your video after I ordered the same incubator, I'm into my last week of incubation. Did you have any success? So far all but 1 of mine are moving when I candle them.

Good thing to note if your going to keep it in colder environment it’s better to keep it in the styrofoam it came with to lock in the heat… I had it in a cold environment and it wouldn’t come up to temp until I put it in the styrofoam it came with(eggs didn’t going till it reached temp) which was like 5 min after putting it into the styrofoam container it came with

Just bought this, broke within 4 days. Display will not show temps and internal temp is about 85 and will not go higher. The temperature is based off a separate sensor.

I had this incubator to hatch my quail eggs and it worked so well. The only problem I had was keeping the humidity up during the last few days of incubation, I had to use an extra sponge

I have 13 days more. I feel good so far I candled them they look like they’re developing. At least seven of them. I will make sure I update on Hatch day. Thanks for watching

@@cheaphomesteading thanks for the reply. A candling video would be very informative. I have the same incubator just bought and have 9 chicken eggs in about two days but I have another thermometer inside measuring humidity and temp and it doesn’t seem to match with the temp that is on the incubator and different parts of the incubator showing different temp so I don’t think the heat is spreading evenly and don’t think the thermostat on the incubator is very accurate

I will do candling video that’s a good idea. It seems like the eggs that are in the middle seem to be hotter than the ones near the water sponge. It will be interesting to see how many hatch.

Question. Ive read that eggs should be kept longways, as they would be in the wild, but the way this is built is to place em small in down upright, if im making any sense. Ive never incubated before and have the same exact incubater. I started out placing em like you did and then read the long ways thing so laid em on their side. Does this make any difference?
