@Lonniebelle19793 жыл бұрын
I just got some too but I was a bit bummed because the largest size (0) was just a hair too small four my thumb. 😞 I don't even have very large nail beds! If you do have large nail beds and are searching for duel forms, SXC brand duel forms come in 14 sizes and the largest size is bigger then my big toe!?! I don't think they make them in stiletto shape yet, though you can create the pointed shape in the form before you cure whichever adhesion method you're going with. I got mine from AliExpress by searching for "stiletto/almond duel forms" I copied the exact wording of the title for anyone wanting to find them... It's "120pcs/set False Nails Forms Mold Square Stiletto Tips Sharp End Stilettos Fake Nail UV Gel Manicure Easy Apply Salon Extension". These were the same brand as the ones on Amazon as well. Lastly, these were the cheapest ones I could find on AliExpress. How this helps someone out there 😘

I just got into doing my nails about three months ago starting with polygel and dualforms. I have been wanting to try acrylic but my dominant hand would be hard to sculpt at first because of my non dominant hand. I never THOUGHT about using dualforms with acrylic and slower setting monomer. Can’t believe this is the first time I saw THIS video since I watch as many from Susie as I can make time for. Thank you Susie. I will now try acrylic by using dualforms on my right hand and learn to sculpt on my left. Then when I get the hang of working with it will practice on my right hand.

I’ve learned so much from your videos I’m just a girl that does her own nails I didn’t go to nail tech school (although I graduated esthetics, Never got my license because the school went under and kept everyone’s certificates until every dime was paid and I still owed 2000 that’s another story) I know many techs personally and I’ve gotten my nails done for years but I finally had had it and it’s just a part of fulfilling my artistic flair and taking up a new hobby I was rocking the long natural nails with the gel polish, but I got bored and kept breaking just my one pointer and I cannot do nine nails😆 it just isn’t gonna happen, so I learned how to fix my other nails on my own with poly gel, self taught all from watching your videos!!! Thanks Suzy for all the videos you’ve made. I’ve been a fan for the last two years, and anytime I have a question I can always find the answers on your videos. You can do custom shapes with dual forms. You are creating the nail inside of the dual form and then applying it to your actual fingernail. So you can form it with a square tip or a coffin tip or oval or pointed or whatever, inside the dual form. And my cuticles always come out amazing because after I cure my polygel, I take one of these small football shaped bits in my e-file and take it down so that it's tapered to my cuticle...

@Shanna23233 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could just use the size 0 then go in and sculpt or fills in the side walls / empty space that the dual form / gelly tip couldn’t cover. I’ve done this on clients with wider thumbs.

@@Shanna2323 That’s what I used to do, before I just accepted my fate, and started sculpting with hybrid gel. I was never one to change my sets out often, back when I was still going to a salon, because I never needed to. I have more luck with dual forms. I now use them, just to sculpt the tips, then I go in and finish the nails, once the dual forms are off. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one with freakishly huge thumb nail beds. I was always complimented by nail techs, I just never realized how tricky it was to get them to work, especially before I knew what I was doing last year 🤣. Omg I love how flat your nails look! I had acrylics a few months ago and the nail technician did it with huge bumps on the top and when I asked her if she could make them a bit flatter, she said it's how they're supposed to be because if you make them flat, they won't stay on your nail and I was like "uh...okay, anyways". So I ended up with overly curled nails which I personally don't really like and I just ordered those gel tips from ebay because I thought that with nail building materials you physically can't make flatter nails and I wanted to make my desired flat nails at home. 😣

I've tried both and I love my poppits, I started doing my own nails about a few months ago and now I've got the hang of prepping my natural nails the poppits give me a longer lasting nail. I find the gelly tips kind of annoying. Though, saying that I find the gelly tips easier to do art on when they're cured.
