I was thinking about putting rubicon axles front and rear on my Sahara. Now after watching this video on what jeeps can do without lockers, i have decided to just add a winch and put trusses and lockers on my dana 30 when I can save some money. If i went with rubicon axles i would have spent around 6k, now il spend around 2k. I save 4K. Thank you

18:50 is exactly why serious off-roaders buy a Jeep. The bronco is seriously limited with its independent front suspension. Not to mention the Jeep has one of the best brake lock differential systems in the business. You guys are lucky the bronco didn’t break a tie rod end or steering rack.

The Bronco is very capable off-road, but of course people love to hate so they can justify their choices. I've spent a full day rock crawling with 9 Broncos and not a single one had an issue. If you don't know what you're doing, you will damage steering components eventually and Ford has beefed them up for the '24 model year just in case. It's not like jeeps are known for rock solid reliability anyway. I chose the Bronco because I drive a lot and didn't want to constantly have to see-saw a wheel back and forth commuting to work. Driving them back to back on the road is no comparison. I'm willing to sacrifice a little front articulation just for that.

The green jeep has been caught out in the rain without a top at some point I bet. I got caught out at Cabella's with my roof off, and I had to replace a clock spring and had moisture in my radio for about a month. I would place a bet on it that where all the the issues are coming from. electrical issues are coming from.

If Shamrock has an auxiliary battery’s then that’s probably the cause of his electrical gremlins. Weird shit happens when those tiny batteries start to fail. Lots of good videos on KZbin about how to delete the auxiliary battery. Thanks for another great video Monkey.

I took delivery of my 2020 Gladiator Sport S 10 days ago. Got it used (obviously) with only 12,290 miles on it. It has Rubicon suspension and wheels (33s), and a limited slip rear diff. I've taken it out in my area on forest service roads, and fire roads every day. Been solo every time, so I'm not pushing it a lot, but that will soon be changing when I have a chance to meet up with some friends.

I was told that back in the day the power line trails were gravel roads that you could drive a Cadillac down. But over the years because they were not used for anything they were not maintained and they eventually became what they are today.

The issue described at the end of the video sounds like the voltage supply equipment for the infotainment system, which depending on the specific construction of that jeep could also have something to do with whether or not it recognizes the key being inserted, which could explain why it just randomly stopped. I don't even think dealership diagnostic equipment would be able to recognize this issue if I am correct, although I'm willing to be surprised. I would look for a sufficiently skilled electronics hobbyist and ask them if they would be willing to test the voltage regulators and whatnot because I would be about the only way I could think of to figure out if that is the issue and how to fix it

I’ll pass on the information to him
@the_undead
@the_undead 11 ай бұрын
@@SmokinMonkeyOG this could all be completely incorrect information so do keep that in mind. But with what I know about vehicle construction, I can't think of anything else that would cause the infotainment screen to be flashing on and off unless the brightness is way lower than usual then it could just be the infotainment system dying. But why that would cause the vehicle to just shut off? I don't know
@SmokinMonkeyOG
@SmokinMonkeyOG 11 ай бұрын
@the_undead I’m with you I have no idea what would cause that other than possibly the alternator. I’ll pass on the info and hopefully he can get it figured out
@the_undead
@the_undead 11 ай бұрын
@@SmokinMonkeyOG the issues described don't sound like alternator problems to me because the vehicle likely would have had troubles running if that was the case. And like you said in the video the vehicle was running fine apart from the infotainment system and just randomly deciding to not work at one point. My only other theory is there is a loose connection somewhere and driving on the trail was disconnecting that connection but then when the vehicle stopped bouncing around it would reconnect or something like that. But beyond those two problems, I couldn't tell you anything useful.

I'm curious to know how often you need 4L to climb?
@SmokinMonkeyOG
@SmokinMonkeyOG 11 ай бұрын
Always, gives you more control and better torque. My jeep is in 4L from the beginning of the trail till I air back up
@the_undead
@the_undead 11 ай бұрын
How often do you need it and how often you want it are two very different questions. For most of this trail, I don't think you would need 4L but your vehicle would be harder to control and be less safe because you wouldn't have quite as much control over various things. But if you're a reckless idiot who doesn't mind prematurely destroying your vehicle, then a lot of this could be done in 4H at least in theory

Ya mine are 33 inches but what you’re describing is closer to 34 inches in diameter. 4.10 would be more than enough but I would take it for a drive with the stock gearing as see if you even feel the need to do the gears. The 8 speed transmission makes up for it pretty well
