Love this series with Pipi! I know we talk allot of trash about manual stalls, but stalling is just part of wheeling with a manual. With that said, the 8 speed auto in my '24 jl sport s has proven to be amazing both on and off road. My only performance mod (so far) had been my toyo open country at trail tires (255/80/17 or 33/10) which are worlds better than the Nexen rodian atx (245/75/17) which came stock. Planning on keeping "Dusty" as close to stock as possible. Love the challenge of near stock wheeling.

Honestly, a slightly bigger MT tire, ditch the stock bumpers, and maybe gut out the plastic fenders, and I don't think anyone would really need any more from their Wrangler. And that's a sweet sway bar disconnect. I love it! And I'd love to see you guys do a truly budget "every man" build. Especially if you stayed below 35" tires. That would be some quality content

Well, that's what we've been doing with this Jeep for the past year, keeping her as stock as possible. A few minor factoryish upgrades might be coming but that's about it :)
@ThunderBear4WD2 жыл бұрын
I know the point is to keep it as close to stock as you can, I don't think anyone would give you grief for putting traction tires on. Don't even need to change the size up, just a set of tires with some bite. It's still cool you take it all these places to show what it can do. Kudos!
@wayalife2 жыл бұрын
LOL - not gonna lie, Cindy and I fully thought we'd be forced to change out her tires a long time ago. We're astounded that we haven't blown one yet. But to your point, it's been about a year since we got her and I think it might be time for a new set of shoes - if only for more traction.

It's good to see that you did clear the obstacles and it was a manual; which I drive in my JLU Unlimited. I started with Jeeps with my new '75 CJ5 here in Arizona, 304 v8 with a three speed manual. At the time the 10.5" Tru Trac Rhinos were the deal. My suggestion for manuals with front sway bar disconnects and lockers, is carry just a very small amount of speed or "smash" as we used to say in the Air Force. This compensates for the reaction factor and inertial feedback through the drive train through the obstacle. This helps save your clutch, but you need to develop the feel for the particular obstacle; more is not necessarily better. Glad to see you adapted a manual transmission---theft protection device for millenials! Thanks! "Snydes"

AWESOME VIDEO! TRUE AWESOMENESS! Gives me hope that I can have fun jeeping with my ‘21 WILLYS because -as you show here and in your preceding video- there’s an affordable option for a sway bar disconnect. I’ve been pretty concerned about this issue because I can’t do an expensive option and everything I do to my WILLYS I have to do myself. So, from the wholeness of my heart, I thank y’all for this awesome video. As a side note, watching Pippy (hope I’m spelling the name correctly) crawl all over that earth was SOOOO FUN! Your white jeep handled the terrain with ease and grace and it’s an impressive, gorgeous jeep. For me though, I enjoyed watching Pippy master the landscape’s challenges more. I was riveted! Especially on that waterfall/rockfall! WOW WEE! The Rubicon sway bar disconnect you installed is amazing. I have to admit, I find the stock Jeep content much more engaging than the stuff involving a fairly modified platform. I had a TJ with a LOT of stuff in it, and now I'm in a stock JL, and I'm thinking it should stay that way for at least a while!

LOL - as you can see in this video, we still own a couple of highly modified Jeeps and yet, I have to say that I have a hell of a good time in this bone stock Jeep. In a lot of ways, a lot more fun because of it.

@@wayalife The white JK is a beautiful Jeep, but the other issue with something that extremely capable is that it can turn a vast majority of trails into a walk in the park. Like, really scary gnarly trails that mostly buggies would run 15 years ago. Something like the old expression about having fun "driving a slow car fast" ... Either way, I'm loving the Pippi content!

Hey guys. So glad you guys are back..your videos got me into jeeps and off roading.. Eddie you are the man..tackling that's stuff with street tires..I was cringing when the wheels was off the ground and you kinda hopped her..lol

LOL - It's been a challenge but we're trying our hardest. Glad you're enjoying what we've been putting out. 😎

Man, for a piece of mind I would definitely want to upgrade those tires! I thought they were about to blow a sidewall multiple times....YIKES!!!
@wayalife2 жыл бұрын
LOL - honestly, I can't believe they've held up as long as they have. We were kind of hoping to blow one before replacing them but the lack of traction we had on this trail is making us want to upgrade sooner. Same size or there about but with a better tire.

I think that Jeep would be great with a 4to1 transfer case out of a rubicon. Would make for a less stressful time with the clutch and love the video!
@wayalife2 жыл бұрын
LOL - without question, a 4:1 transfer case would make a HUGE difference. But, the whole point of Pippi is to show that you don't "need" one to get out and have fun. Stressful times is how you learn to be better.

The challenge makes it that much more fun. Traded my jk on 40’s for a Volvo station wagon, same trails just more challenge… and damage..

Well not all the same trails..😂

Wow a stock Jeep can do that!!! Insane! Love the content!

LOL - oh yeah. A stock Jeep and without a 4:1 transfer case or lockers can do all this 👍

@@wayalife don't forget.. you are a hell of a driver and offroader.. if i get one of these for the wife i doubt she can do what you can, i'll probably get her the automatic
@wayalife Жыл бұрын
LOL - honestly, an automatic is the better transmission to go with and it's why my big Jeeps have them.

Good video, have been “saving” for a red 2dr soft top sport. I wanna get the base model so I can modify as I please instead of paying for something I’m very rarely ever going to use or see. My 94 XJ likes to take my money at the moment. Hopefully one day I can make my dream come true.

Stinger Bar add to list. gotcha. Great video and very impessive first run for Pippy.

Awesome but really, this is far from Pippi's first run. Assuming you haven't seen it before, here's another one that we filmed a while back kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIK7Z4l7h65olZI

@@wayalife I guess i meant with the new swaybar installed. I was really curious how much help it would be on a stock sport set up and yeah there were some spots where you see the limits of that suspsension but I would of never trusted myself with a Willys to do what you did, but then again I don't have the years behind me as you do, impressive none the less. I've been wathcing you for a few years now and you are one of a few channels that really got me interested in the Jeep community. So for that I thank you.
@wayalife2 жыл бұрын
@@tracktoysracing Ah, gotcha! So, to be clear, the sway bar disconnect simply makes the process of disconnecting faster and easier. It in and of itself doesn't actually improve performance. The act of disconnecting does 😎

@@wayalife gotcha, thanks for taking the time to talk and explaining everything. Interested in seeing what other budget items you'll be adding in the future.

I think much of Pippi's awesomeness comes from the driver. Eddie. Could you do a how - to video on servicing the front hubs on one of your DANA 60 axles. I have Dynatrac axles, so of course I would rather see it done on Moby. Thanks, Jack
@wayalife2 жыл бұрын
LOL - you're too kind but really, these new JL's with their traction control are pretty awesome. Regarding hub servicing, do you have the WARN or Dynaloc hubs? I just did mine last year but I'm sure it'll come up again.
