👁 About this video : Today it's time to take my newly purchased Jeep Wrangler Sport S to Uwharrie National Forest and really see how well it can do in the stock configuration! For a vehicle that is basically purpose built to go offroading, it actually did pretty good especially comparing it to my lifted tacoma! Aside from ground clearance and the stock tires sliding a bit more, it did surprisingly well! It's crazy to see what you can do with a stock truck, and now I have a great benchmark for what I can do and how much better it can perform! I am definitely going to go with 35's and the lift height I'm not sure about yet, but this will definitely be able to tackle anything that we can put it through!

This makes me mighty proud of my 2019 JL stock princess that I purchased in February. No mods. Yet. 😁 She won’t see much off-roading, but still want the ability for when the mood strikes. Wanting 2-2.5 in lift with 33-34 tires.

Took my 2020 JL unlimited off-roading/mudding in some serious mud puddles. Like some looked like they would sink a jeep with one drop off. Bone stock, Michelin street tires, not aired down. Got stuck twice at the beginning but I wiggled her free back and forth. Then I just full sent every hole we hit, never got stuck after that. Hit every hole, sometimes water over my hood, never got stuck. Full throttle everything. Surprised the crap out of me, I tried to find its limit with some serious mudding trails, expecting to get stuck in every hole... she held up. Passed my every expectation

That's great to hear! It's pretty impressive in the stock form for sure and with a few mods could be even better! I found I scrapped a good bit, so if I kept this, a lift and bigger tires would make it way better!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah, tires is probably the main thing, possibly a 2” lift but I feel as if the lift isn’t in dire need. I bottomed out once while we went mudding, so it definitely would help a crap ton. My main complaint is a week after, my horn sounds like someone stuffed a potato in it. So probably have to buy a new horn now.

I took my 2017 JK Sport 2 Door off road for a couple days through freshly cut forest, mud roads, and rocky trails and it did awesome. Couple puddles got me worried with the Sport stock tires and the fresh cut forest area had me bouncing, but it rocked. Even did it door and topless one day. Even without lockers, Jeep has the “brake-lock” diffs and it functions very similar to Toyota’s A-Trac. It’s very effective. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think there’s a way to turn off the Jeep traction control? I’d love to see a comparison of Jeeps traction control versus A-Trac from the Toyota I’m anxious to see how reliable this JL is for y’all. Congrats again on the Jeep. I personally hope you’ll keep the Taco also, but I’m a Toyota guy so I’m biased. Nonetheless, excited for you and the Jeep!

I enjoyed watching your video “I Can't Believe I did This in My Stock JL Wrangler!”. I’m 77 so I forget lots of things but I don’t remember seeing this video before and I don’t understand why I didn’t find it until now. My wife and I lived in Utah from 1982 to 2007 and our son still lives there. We have had several 4WD vehicles. Most of them we bought used but three we bought new were two Isuzu Troopers (1987 & 1989) and a Wrangler (1999). We took them on camping and picnic trips on Utah backroads an average of twice a month from April to October most of those years. Our son has not yet bought a new 4WD but he has two Grand Cherokees (1997 and 2014). If you already have a pickup truck with a receiver hitch (hitch receiver?), would removing the hitch on the Wrangler give you a better angle of departure? Or is it possible that dragging the hitch on rocks doesn’t really hurt anything? When asked “How much money is enough?” one millionaire answered “Just a little bit. More.” I think you will find that same principle holds true with regard to how many 4WD modifications are enough. Be sure to inquire of VERY knowledgeable 4WD technicians (or engineers) about how much you should adjust the driveshaft attachment angles if or when you lift you lift your Wrangler so as to minimize the tendency for the changes in angles to cause more rapid wear of your U-joints (or/and other components) and vibration. If you ask someone who doesn’t understand the question, you are asking the wrong person. I was able to devise a way to disconnect the rear sway bar on our ‘99 Wrangler so it could be reconnected when we drove it on pavement. Each of those procedures required crawling under the vehicle but each only took a few minutes. We never disconnected the sway bar except when the roads were dry. The roads were seldom wet when we got back to pavement but I did leave the sway bar disconnected a few times on pavement - only at moderate speeds and not for very far. There are people who would like nothing more than to close all unpaved public roads on public land. They have an advantage because most of the members of Congress have no concept of how unpaved roads can be used without causing ecological or esthetic damage. If you would like to help the people who are trying to keep unpaved roads on public land open to the public, there is nothing easier or more effective to do than to resist the temptation to refer to what you do on unpaved roads as “off-roading”. For many centuries, the word “road” in English was a reference to a route that had been used and reused by full-size vehicles. And “full-size” was a reference to vehicles with a minimum track of 4 feet 8-1/2 inches - the average distance between the hoofprints of the left horse and the right horse of a two-horse team. It was the distance between the left and right wheels of most of the Egyptian and Roman chariots when those countries were dominant political powers and it was the distance between the left wheels and right wheels of the Conestoga wagons used in the United States and Canada during the late eighteenth century and most of the nineteenth century. One of the 49ers described the road his party was traveling as “comprised of equal parts of mud and boulders”. Yes, that was a road, in spite of efforts by late-twentieth-century politicians to redefine that word. When you are tempted to refer to a road as a “trail”, please consider, instead, using such terms as “backroad”, “unpaved road”, “unimproved road”, “primitive road” “dirt road”, “gravel road” or “rocky road”. Don’t give the killjoys an excuse to refer to an area with unpaved roads as “roadless”. Most members of Congress simply don’t know any better!

Nice, my 2018 Jeep jlu is semi stock atm. I’ve had it for a year and currently has 17100 miles on it. The only mods I’ve done to it so far were change my lights for leds, put some 31 nitto ridge grapplers, and some enhanced rubi rails. Once I get my lift I’m definitely going to uhwarrie. If y’all get the chance go to patriot moutain off-road in Boone, I took my stock wrangler there as soon as I got it and it went well. So much fun on that trail

I ordered a Rubicon a week ago. New to Wrangler world. Don't understand why people buy a sport then spend money and time to modify to get 33" tires and lift couple inches. Why not just buy a Rubicon and get over it? you get 33" tires and more ground clearance in a stock Rubi.
@BrosFOURRSpeed
@BrosFOURRSpeed 2 жыл бұрын
Well there are people who like to work on their truck and do the mods and people who just want to get in and drive. I bought a sport because it was like $10k less than a rubicon and I do all the work on my vehicles because I enjoy it and would spend less than a rubicon and it would be more capable! But that's why they have different trim levels for different people and purposes! Plus you can put 35'' tires on a stock jeep with no mods. You could even do a 37'' tire, with no lift either!
