Just a plain speaking humble man. As a boy I watched his movies on TV in Southern Ca. Wish we had more him today.

Great to see where the greatest actor of the 70's got His witty charm. John certainly resemles His mold. Thanks for sharing.

Texa was obvious no fool. He would have done well as a senator. But even then MONEY was the main factor. He grew up in a town in East Texas about fifty miles from where I did, but farming not ranching prevailed in this wooded area. Driving through Northern Mississippi the other day I was surprised how much alike that country and east Texas so resemble each other.

I love his singing voice particularly in his younger days-very virile and unique. He sounds very intelligent in this interview.

I had a friend who was a theater manager in Ashland. Kentucky in the late Forties and early Fifties. Quite often, Tex Ritter would stop by for a visit and meet his fans.He did a lot of touring during and after his film career. He also hosted the syndicated cowntry western TV show, Town Hall Dance Party.

Though I am not from America (from india) and have only seen Mr Ritter on KZbin, I must say that besides being a true and thorough Southern gentlemen, he embodies the mainland culture of usa and I feel he looks, talks and behaves like an original American..I always considered the culture of usa as the one portrayed in old western movies, country and folk music. ..it may sound very stupid but that's what I think..

Probably a bit more diverse than that but your observations were quite accurate for many parts of the USA.
