As a former HIV/STI hotline worker, I have a lot to say about this. The first thing we stressed is to be your own advocate. That means you look out for you before anyone else. Don't assume or expect any person who wants to have sex with you to have your best interest at heart, they only want to get their rocks off. That means you carry condoms, that means you are on PrEP for HIV prevention, that means you know what PEP is and how it works. Next - not every state has laws requiring disclosure of HIV status. I'm from NYS, and a person who has HIV doesn't have to share that because it's protected health information, and it's completely legal to not do so. That why you get tested to know your status, and insist your partner gets tested before having sex - if they refuse or are iffy, walk away if that's the boundary you set. I also like how Priscilla brought up the older population - a person's age doesn't exempt them from acquiring and transmitting HIV or STIs. In fact, it's very common for there to be high rates of infections in places like nursing homes. So just to summarize - ask yourself if rolling around in a bed, on a couch, or in a car with some rando for a few minutes is worth the anxiety and stress of possibly having acquired HIV/STIs at best, and actually having them for the rest of your life at worst. I can assure you that no man's dick is worth that.

Wrong, men do not care. Military men are given lectures and videos and meds regarding having sex with women, especially in other undevoloped countries. He then blamed me for giving him the std even though i was celibate for years before i met him. He was an abusive narcissist. Happened to a friend of mine. she is black and met a white guy who took interested in her and they semi dated but hooked up for months.
