A fact about each character Scout has 7 older brothers and since he couldn't beat them he learned to run faster than them. Precisely about 22 miles at his best. The engineer has a total of 11 PHDs and a random fact about him is that he wears his contruction helmet backwards, wich is not an uncommon thing. Medic has been to hell twice and managed to trick the Devil in one of those times. Oh and he has all of his team mates souls. Sniper has taken Saxton Hale's jarate pills, that triples the size of your kidneys. It does come with unbearable pain but he managed to get around it. Spy most likely is Scout's dad and in game Spy speaks french, english and spanish

the comics are so funny because right when they are about to establish something seemingly intense or emotional, they throw something absolutely ridiculous in along with it. Like the Spy disguising himself as Tom Jones when the Scout died. Or the Sniper's whole Superman spoof origin. Even the Medic's death is played for laughs by establishing the souls thing when he goes to hell. He trades a human soul for a pen. So ridiculous.

TF2 is the perfect example of how to do multiplayer game lore. They know it's hard to give multiplayer games the same storytelling merit as a singleplayer game without it just boiling down to a stupid excuse plot on why two teams are shooting each other anyway, so they just made TF2 lore as ridiculous and over-the-top as possible where anything can happen. And it fucking works. Games like Overwatch try to take lore seriously, but in the end, they feel... corporate? Lacks charm or substance? I dunno, but that's just the feeling multiplayer game lore gives off.
