What’s NOT different about them is that they will both have market adjustments that make them astronomically overpriced and out of reach of most enthusiasts who will use them the way they should be used.

@@freedompanda9438 I absolutely can’t afford one after the massive markups that will be coming on them, but I think that’s sad enough as it is. I’m glad there are plenty of obviously very well-to-do people out there like you who can afford to pay dealer markups (thus incentivizing) it so that you can *decide* to do nothing but highway miles with your Trailhunter. I would say that the reason that there is a pocket on the back of the front passenger seat and not one on the back of the driver seat is because most of the times it is only the driver in the car/truck so if they are going to place something back there the driver can easily reach the back of the passenger seat

Nice job Toyota. You've really gone to the next level. Love both the trucks but totally loving that Trailhunter. I've been putting off trading in my FJ and now that Trailhunter has been intrigued. Not that it's a deal breaker but I hope you change your mind about offering and keeping the sunroof. Especially in a truck that's supposed to be all about the outdoor enthusiast. Another option I'm curious to know about, Has Toyota allowed for the addition of a winch? I did notice in another walkaround that there are multiple power take offs for adding more accessories. Cannot wait until it hits the market. Cheers!

One big issue with these "off road" trucks are the plastic front bumpers. Your not going to add a winch with a plastic bumper and the first time you hit something that does not agree with the approach angle (Tommy's demise), you will probably break some plastic. Very nice refresh overall but I believe the aftermarket will need to fill the bumper gap to complete these builds.

Good video! My biggest issue is that it seems not a single channel seemed to report anything about the TRD Pro interior. It’s the ONLY interior that is shown and it’s…well…LOUD. No one bothered to ask the simple question: “Will this model come in more than one interior color scheme?” Flown out to Hawaii, put up in hotels, and it seems like most everyone just desperately tried to get as much video footage as they could, but never asked one of the most glaringly obvious questions? I’ve watched just about every release video from last week, and man…not even a “We asked but they couldn’t answer” answer.

@@tariqsalim2222 I didn’t say no one did it. But a majority of North American overlanders would be farther north. Or at a higher elevation in the middle of summer. The rest of the world is irrelevant. The Tacoma is only available in North America. The rest of the world gets the Hilux. Which is an entirely different vehicle and chassis. I like the new Tacoma. However, I feel that Toyota should of done more with the Trailhunter to further differentiate from the TRD Pro. Other than the shocks, snorkel, exhaust, interior, bed utility bar as well as a longer bed, the Trailhunter is, to me, very similar to the TRD Pro in terms of options. What Toyota should of done with the Trailhunter, is add an ARB front steel bumper that's winch capable or with a winch already installed, an extra 2-3 inches of lift, front locker, full underbody skid plate, and 35 inch tires. That would truly make the Trailhunter the top of the line Tacoma and differentiate it from the TRD Pro.

We always get screwed by Toyota when compared to what they offer overseas and the crap we get in the states. The Gen 3 sucked with its hunt for gear’s transmission and it’s gutless power and the Gen 4 is all plastic, rear disk (wow, welcome to the 19th century) and ARB loaded crap. No wonder they debuted it in Hawaii, it’s the land where every Taco is all hat and no cows. They live on asphalt and are always dressed for show. The Gen 4 fits in with this crowd.

I'm waiting for the 4runner with the V8 5.0 engine. Wait, I must be dreaming... Nope another 2.4 turbo / hybrid engine.

5.0 is a car engine. You mean 5.7?

Well I’m set for now. I have a ‘19 4R Trd Pro and a ‘23 Lexus GX. Once the hype passes and prices normalize then I can go check them out. I’m sure prices will reach 60k +🤷🏻‍♂️ Paid 48k for 4R and 60k for GX.

Do either come in a manual and a non hybrid option?….because if not these trims are going to be irrelevant for many of us.

Yeah you can see one in the video but the location is terrible. If you are stuck there is a good chance getting to that tow hook will not be any fun.

I noticed that you guys sound way more winded in these videos which is weird because I figured the extra oxygen that much closer to sea level wouldn’t do that. Did you guys notice a huge difference in Hawaii vs. Colorado?

If I could keep my 23 off road body & cab but with the hybrid 4, 8 speed transmission, disc brakes & factory 33’s, I would have the perfect truck.

IMO Toyota is offering the manual transmission on the wrong models. These are the trims that should have a manual option for enthusiasts. Car companies seem to like to stick manuals only on the lower trims instead of the higher ones. Yes I know they are hybrids, but other companies have gotten manuals to work with hybrids.

Ok so Ranger Raptor, ZR2, AT4and Rubicon- front and rear lockers. TH= "rock crawler/overland".. why didnt Toyota do the same??? Kinda feel like they cheaped out on the suspension too. With an ARB partnership, the TH should come with the BP-51 IMO.. design looks nice but kinda expected it to be on par with the competition and i just dont know if a disconnecting swaybar gets it there..

The passenger-only rear seat pocket might be catering to the driver's reach. Most of the time the driver is alone on a work commute.

We need to see the best midisize trucks on a baja course. Run them in their element to see which is the best offroad. Raptor Ranger, GMC at4x, Chevrolet Zr2, and the Tacoma trd Pro. We need to see which are the posers and which are actually good in fast offroading. TFL has access to all of these vehicles. Just don't let Roman drive because he doesn't like his head bouncing around!🤣🤣🤣
