@@Yohanyothan sort of. The third gen sequoias all have a hybrid platform. But it’s for power and torque and not MPG. it’s instant torque that is almost 600 foot pounds and the HP is around 4305 Edit: fat fingered. 435 hp.

Yep, I drive a 2006 Land Cruiser LC3, it’s by far the most durable, reliable, well built vehicle I’ve ever owned. 200k on the clock and it runs as smoothly as ever. Apparently Toyota knew they were building a vehicle that was going to last, which is why they deliberately gave them a timeless design that would not become outdated-looking. The great thing is, on those rare occasions when a part needs to be replaced, you don’t mind doing it because it feels like an investment in something worthwhile.

@@paulsteele8614 they never made a 2 door 80 man, they’re all 4 door wagons. You can get SWB 70 series though, but they look completely different, have different motors, chassis, pretty much everything. Awesome cars nonetheless

I have owned 2 80 series 40th anniversary. The first I bought brand new and it was built far better than a Rolls. Silent while travelling, no rattles nothing. Extremely robust. I used to tow a Noelex 30 on a 6 wheel trailer across the Snowy Mountains. The Noelex was an ocean going yacht. After 400,000 k everything was original! It had just been greased and serviced. Original brake rotors, electrics, engine everything. And the doors just went click. Unfortunately the vehicle was leant and parked upside down after being barrel rolled down the road after several loops. The roof stayed up, doors etc all opened fine and driver didn't even have a scratch. But my cruiser was too damaged to fix... An outstanding vehicle.

I know its, not a true landcruiser, but I own a 2008 Gx470 and absolutely love it. It is solid as a rock and drives like it's brand new with its almost 190,000 miles. I love the old skool much more than the new skool.

These are wonderful points for the land cruise but not why they are worth so much. They’re worth so much because they’re built to last, because every button in that thing still works and there no cracked plastic or worn materials for 300k+ miles. That’s why they’re worth so much

In 1996 I bought a lightly used 1992 Land Cruiser. The original owner ordered the seats to be 2 tone to match her purse. Dark blue with dark green inserts. Wool carpet and the largest Sun Roof at the time. Went all over the Northeast and Canada with that beast. 😢 I sold that one

Nope. It's an 80 series and they were constructed to a standard that simply no one builds to any more. And they were designed to be easy to maintain. Everything is accessible. Grease nipples everywhere. Drive through a deep river well just drain oils easy. And keep going.

I bought one when I was 20, I found a 95 triple locked one 8 hours away, flew there and drove it home, this was in 2008 and it had 120,000 on it and I paid $8,000, still have it, it's a trailer only rock crawler on 38's now, I miss driving it daily though... I have a triple diff lock set up on my 80 series 1hdft. Harrop air lockers front and rear, with the factory centre lock. Japan import to NZ with all the gear put on here in NZ. Kaiapoi repowers near Christchurch did alot of the mods. Goes like a rocket. Have 3 Land Cruisers. They hold their value well!

Also, as a certified south african with a Land Cruiser thats been claimed by Mozambiquan guerrila fighters and is currently being used as a Tactical, if you want a city car, get the luxury land cruisers, if you want to use it as a land cruiser, avoid the luxury options

Name another car as capable and durable as the Land Cruiser. There simply isn’t one on Earth. Mine has 280,000+ miles on it and I wouldn’t think twice about driving it around the globe. I mean, I just replaced the original starter and alternator at 260,000 miles. While we did that, we went ahead and did all the maintenance and repaired things that needed to be addressed - new cooling system (radiator, hoses, water pump), belts, a new AC system, valve cover gasket and cylinder sheaths, new rear main seal and new EBC brakes all around. She’s good for another 300,000+ miles now.
