I actually found the Mandarin/Cantonese variant speech to be an interesting representation of the disconnect occurring between the members of Evelyn's family. She and Waymond typically speak Mandarin, esp to each other, but Gong Gong speaks Cantonese, while Joy primarily sticks to English. They can't get on the same page because they're literally not speaking the same language.

I thought it was more just a realism thing tbh. my family structure is actually very similar. from what ik most if not all native cantonese speakers speak fluent (or close to fluent) mandarin too, so gong gong would also know mandarin I think. joy does only speak english and a bit of mandarin though (a very relatable level for me lol) so you're onto something there with the cantonese language not being passed down and joy and gong gong not really being able to communicate (also relatable) edit: I'm just talking about the characters in the main universe of the movie ofc

This movie was goofy, but in a charismatic and entertaining way. I went into the movie with absolutely no expectations because I knew absolutely nothing about it. I 100% agree that Everything Everyone All At Once is the best film of 2022. Knew the movie was silly and thought it'd be just a goofy multiverse movie but I'm glad I was wrong. A lot of "sins" are like. genuinely cool things. or things that are intentional and add to the movie. Example, lets say all the signs in the loundromat ARE anxiety inducing. Thats kinda. the point. the stress IS THE POINT. It is interesting that movies without expectations are able to be what it needs to be and are oftentimes extremely appreciated for its simplicity. I'm always curious as to what these people who call out guys like you to "go and get a job" mean. What to them, is a real job? Like you said, a job is a task where you get paid to do it, so anything can be a job. Is it because you sit there and do commentary? Well, no that can't be it because that's what newscasters do. Of course, I already watched and loved this video, Th3Birdman. But I came back to watch it again now that I have finally seen *Everything Everywhere All At Once.* MAN!!!!! Yes, it is most definitely the best movie last year AND quite possibly one of the top 5 movies of all time I've ever seen. Even though I'm not into Sci-Fi, and I am a Marvel head, I was able to follow every moment of this brilliant film. ok, would have never expected to say this, but.... this actually made me want to watch the CS video, normally don't keep up with them since I find them more annoyin/boring than funny, but for once they actually made satire with making fun of other types of content like live streams by using a concept of the movie... Is good to see that cinema sins can actually make smart and funny content, too bad most of the time they don't want to stray too much from their formula

Yeah! I actually really enjoy the multiverse aspect of their video. I usually don't bother to check out their videos directly because I tend to just find them frustrating without Birdman's commentary, but this one actually intrigued me and seems kinda fun!

I have to admit, the video that Cinemasins made for this movie is pretty neat. While I’ve only seen it through this channel, the fact they applied the multiverse concept to this video is pretty well done, even though they made a few invalid points, and most of them fell flat for me. Also, I agree with them, this movie is great if not one of the best.

Just watched CinemaSins video tonight. You would think that their sin counter would be based on cliches, contradictions or gaps in world-building, and other mistakes. Nope. A sin is literally a thought in the form of a sentence that one of their writing staff committed to paper. Very happy to see this channel took the time to shit on this channel that has 9 mil+ subscribers even though they contribute nothing to film analysis. At the very least, everything they contribute is negated by the absurdly subjective and wholly inconsistent "sin counter" they disseminate.
