I love your mom, she reminds me of my mom and granny. They have their way in the kitchen. We can learn all the techniques and everything but they do it their way and that's just how it's done. Even though they're willing to learn our school says or how we do it, they still made our cooking skills. It's just great!

Olá. Sou do Brasil e adoro a culinária asiática! É uma pena só estar vendo o vídeo agora! O que gosto em sua mãe é que ela é uma pessoa que tem muito conhecimento para dividir, além de ser uma pessoa de simples e humilde, difícil nos dias de hoje.

Wondering how much of that oil is absorbed into the omelette

Half a cup of oil…. About 8 tbsps… 1000 calories of fat

Awesome. Though I would be inclined to do the omelette after the pork is done. But the meal is fabulous!

If I wanted to add pork or chicken mince to the omelette, would I need to cook the mince first or do you think it would cook though sufficiently combined with the egg?

My first father-in-law taught me to make rice precisely that way many many years ago. I am 65 yrs old and I learned when I was 19 yrs old. He also taught me how to make and use nuc man (fish sauce) too. He was not Asian. He owned an incredible restaurant.

Thank you for making a full meal, please make more of these, I do want to learn how to make more complete, balanced meals. Trying to be healthy. It’s rare on KZbin to see complete meals, usually it focuses on individual dishes such as lemon chicken and may include rice which tastes awesome but without side dishes it’s not exactly going to be healthy. That goes for recipe books too, I have loads of recipe books from around the world, the only thing I collect and I don’t think any of them even recommends accompaniments to create full meals other than the most basic such as rice or pasta. It makes it all the more challenging to create a healthy, balanced diet if you are not familiar with the cultural norms of new cuisine.
