Couple things: Elvish Farmer isn't a Fungus; you can't use the Fungal Bloom on it. In game 3 early on (turn 4 maybe?), you could have used the Saproling created by the farmer to pump your Devourer and kill the black knight instead of gaining two life. I'm bringing this up not so much to highlight the play mistake but because I think you were playing as if you could only use the saprolings on the creature that created them. They're fungible (hah) -- you can use any saproling for any of the sacrifice abilities. I've had a B/G Thallid deck together for a several years now, and I think it's my favorite deck of all time. It's not as many funguses and doesn't play bloom but it's got stuff like Royal Assassin to handle creatures and Fallen Angel is amazing when you can make a zillion tokens.

Thanks for sharing and didn’t think about the Farmer/Bloom, but you’re 100% right. I wrongly thought that the Devourer ate three counters for the pump, but of course he eats a thallid (plant powerrr) instead! Thanks for sharing Jon and you’re BG deck sounds fun. Big fan of Fallen Angel 🔥

Oh, and I still have my counters and felt pouch from the gift boxes, too. It's the only way to put counters on a thallid!

Love me a good ole Thallid deck. Pretty neat idea to add the relic barrier. It always amazes me how many new decks are made from a limited format in 93-94. For my thallid deck, I just added a bunch of swamp creatures to party with the fungus; Moss Monster, Spitting Slugs, Swamp Hag, Thelomite, FERAL THALLID. Also used ice age land to make the whole deck black bordered :)

A good win condition and super tribal flavorful for that deck would be fungasaur, use the counters to ping her at the end of turns with the thorn and watch her become insane quick, a berserk would also help mommy fungus out too lol Aboria would be fun too, playing with counters and putting 1/1 tokens into play shouldn’t count towards it, so you can stall your opponent while building a massive army or enough ping tokens to win.

Hey Tim. OMG! Why is there no Arboria in this deck??? One Thallid, one Fungal Bloom and Arboria and yr set. With Arboria the black player has no chance. He can't attack. Get rid of the Winter Orbs, they are sideboard material anyway (as this game has shown) and put Arboria in instead.
