Mike Taylor was the first player drafted from the D League in 2008. Latavious Williams was also drafted in 2010 out of the D League.

Him calling it the GLeague later on is a mistake because (1) the DLeague and the GLeague are the same league, the name was just changed and (2) the DLeague did not become the GLeague until 2017. So in 2014 which is when he got drafted he got drafted from the DLeague not the GLeague, making what he said false… and even if he said GLeague it’d still be false because it’s all the same league and same history.

It’s not really fair to drop averages when most of the time it’s the final minute or two.. It’s like dropping a rookie’s averages who comes in with the white flag. He’s an alright finisher and hits over 50% of his FGs for his career, while having some good defensive moments too. A problem is he plays with such intensity that his body moves quicker than his mind sometimes and he goes wild. When he got close to 10min a game over a 2yr span (9.75min) 2-3yrs ago he was averaging 3.2PPG, 2.14Rebs, .65Asts, .4stls, .3blks while shooting 53.7%. His career per 36min isn’t great, but is still decent 11.4ppg, 7.3rebs, 2.7asts, 1.3stls, .7blks. 50.9% (57.9% on 2s) 2023-2024 average when playing over 5min 2.18PPG, .5Rebs, 1Ast, .36Blks in 9min per on 52% from the field. Am I saying if he got the PT he would be a solid role player? No, but he is a player you can throw out there when the effort is bad, or moral may be low and he will ease the ship. Throw him in for 5min or so here and there and he’ll be good. As far as 13th, end of the rotational guys go he’s not that bad for what he does.

I do think he got on his own merits but he probably still has a job due to his brother and that's ok. Jeff Teague said that when Thanasis couldnt travel with the team for Game 1 and 2 of the finals they lost and Thanasis came back for the rest of the series and GIannis Energy just changed and he took over. If my best player needs his brother for motivation and plays better when his brother is on the team, then guess what he is having that 15th spot on my team for life. The 15th spot is an unused roster spot mostly, why give it to a guy who isnt going to play and have Giannis missing his brother. If the 15th spot isnt going to play he can contribute in other ways.
