I'm in the UK and over here turkeys go in around midnight on low and literally cook all night and we usually eat at 3pm when the Queen comes on at Christmas. Turkeys literally cook for like fifteen hours and come out amazing. We also cover the entire turkey in raw bacon (no precooked bacon in this country 😆) and tinfoil before it goes in the oven at midnight. People fight over the crispy bacon when the tinfoil comes off to brown the turkey.

I was lucky enough to grow up with a great-grandmother in my life. We were soul mates and I wanted to be just like her. During a trip to visit her, we shared green onions from the relish plate and, afterward, she popped a clove into my mouth and told me to chew on it lightly to clean my breath. I loved it and, once home, I decided to do it myself. I climbed up to the spice cupboard and, since I didn’t remember what it was called, started searching visually. I gleefully grabbed the jar of peppercorns, shook one out and popped it into my mouth. I bit down and it crumbled in my mouth and blech! I spit it out as my mother came into the kitchen to see what I was yelling about. She was laughing so hard that she could hardly show me the cloves and give me one to get rid of the pepper taste! 😂
