Did anybody at NCFC research whether Burnley had a player who could score from distance?

Nobody closing down that free kick! I used to play in goal as a young lad and I would have been screaming my head off for that to be closed down. Seems such a needless goal to give away, I would have been livid with that if I was in goal

They took the free kick before the ref blew his whistle. Really the ref should have stopped them and made them take it again. Other decisions going against Norwich were much worse in that second half though.

​@@whatwhatwhat6074 the ref doesn't have to blow before a free kick - i listened to this on Radio Norfolk today , & they weren't talking about the refs decisions costing the match . After the Burnley equaliser you could hear the team fading ...& apart the very late miss in the match Burnley didn't sound like they were hanging on for the points .

@@andchat6241 Maybe the ref doesn't have to blow before a free kick. So why do they not allow Norwich players to take a quick free kick. In recent matches I noticed on 3 occasions where the ref stood in front of the ball which stopped us taking the quick free kick. One time we did manage to take a quick free kick and get in a good position but the ref blew and made us take it again!

​@@whatwhatwhat6074 I haven't noticed that , I think it's likely that when you're watching a team not winning we tend to notice all the minor things that 'are going against us' ...With the Burnley free kick my real concern being that it's such a regular part of the game players should 'Automatically' be ready once the whistle for the foul is given ,not looking for someone to tell where to stand ( this may be a problem with so many different nationalities & languages spoken in a team) . And not really having a natural leader on the pitch .

Well if we had a LOT of luck & your desire not to let goals in it might help . Can see why Burnley fans gave Barnes a good reception- he had good years there BUT he doesn't exactly boss the opposition nowadays... I think it can get into teams heads when you know the opposition is unlikely to let more than one goal in . ( last time I went to Burnley it was 5-3 to Norwich 2004(?) , great old style ground with social club /pub nearby - hope it's kept its character )

oops typing the wrong name - NC did have a forward called 'Ashley Ward ' Just watched the highlights & the Burnley Keeper did well from the corner with 2 good saves- as he doesn't look the biggest or most commanding of GKs .

With the playoffs looking more remote I’d start playing our new young permanent players (Schwartau, Chrisene) to help them establish themselves in readiness for next season.

Poor game management on and off the pitch,ante and fisher should of stayed on,stop playing around at the back,we should of killed the game off with second goal,U sit back and invite pressure this is what happens, Sargent and McLean are huge misses,should of been 3 points today but to lose is criminal 😭🤬🤣💛💚🇬🇫🔰😭

It's not a bad idea looking to next season- as long as they don't do the standard 15 players in & the same out during the summer . How can a 'unified spirit' form with so many players speaking different languages & without a reserve team for others to get used to playing each week ? It seems a lot of NC supporters haven't realised if you keep on needing (at least) 2 goals a game to get anything ,then there is not a solid centre to the team .

@andchat6241 spot on we don't seem to have leaders on the pitch who can see games out,we look so vulnerable when we concede,playing around at the back is crazy,got to get on the front foot more for the team to push up,if we had a Alex Tetty or a Oli skipp U can play from the back but we have no defensive midfueld general,way to open and yesterday another example,give teams space they will hurt U,need Sargent and McLean back a,s p,but in January got to look for commanding central midfielder 💛💚🇬🇫👍🔰

​​@@NigelCraske As I can't get to many games now - I asked someone that goes regularly 'have we got anybody like Tetty now ?' . For a few years we seem to have a lot of midfield type players who sound good when attacking & the teams winning but offer little when it's not going your way . And it's not just a case of 'we've got poor defenders' ,as in almost any position we're capable of conceding ,so getting a 0-0 at Portsmouth is regarded as a 'good result ' . And 'playing out from the back' only really works if a team is confident & they have options of who & where to pass to.

@andchat6241 spot on with your comments,at the end of the day it's a results business and the manager is judged on who he brings in and end result,U need a strong squad to compete,so far by our own standards as a club our form has dipped from being a top championship club to a inconsistent team that can't put a run together,things need to improve to keep the fans on side,I will try to keep the faith 💛💚🇬🇫🔰👍

The odd thing was the usually very good commentator Chris Goreham said " & Norwich have lost for just the 2nd time at home in a year" .....he must have meant "they've lost at home for time 2nd time in x amount of weeks /games"

@@tonymann213 just not good enough,carry this form and it's no play offs but bottom 6 ,and that's not exceptable, January transfer window we need ball winners,pace on the wings ,strikers who can put the ball in the net,not mid 30s,ante crnac needs help,with right players around him there is enough quality there,still want a commanding central defender with pace ,hope our American owners take note to get us back up the league 💛💚🇬🇫👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇺🇸

@@davidlowe8294 I don't like to say it but Ur right,who would of thought drawing with Leeds, Sheffield utd, thrashing Watford 4,1,10 games on we have gone to a team that can't keep a clean sheet apart from the 0,0 at Portsmouth,no spark up front,wide players who can take on the opposition, midfielders who can win a tackle and can control the game,our keepers form dipped is another concern with our open defence,can't address our weaknesses we will be a relegation battle end of the season which is not where Norwich city should be 🤬🤣💛💚🇬🇫
