MGW actually slipped while scoring his goal but recovered to do his celebration. I noticed from the Matchday Pass that referee Peter Bankes and Morgan were in a heated conversation. It seems Bankes considered booking MGW for incitement for doing it in front of the Wolves fans.

I have since the match even seen Wolves fans criticise some of their own for the abuse and disgusting chants towards Morgan, his partner, and especially Greyson. They also lament losing him and seeing how he has got even better. And that angers them towards their owners

The VAR official was Alex Chilowicz, an American who made his EFL debut as a referee last season after moving from the MLS where he served from 2017 to 2023. He will be primarily used as a VAR official for this season, Who might get a match later. It was a clear-as-day penalty but the official explanation was baffling and just stupid
