The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

Great job, Mike. Feel better. I was a reporter in Texas when all this went down, so just for context I’d thought I’d add these components to the story. These guys in Mexico were known as narco-occultists; drug dealers who practiced the Afro-Caribbean religion known as Palo Mayombe. It was similar to Santaria which involved music, dance, chanting & drumming. But Santaria is based on animal sacrifice which often becomes what will be served on that night’s dinner table. Palo Mayombe can be far darker & as Mike said, involves human sacrifice & grave robbing, but practitioners (at least in the form this cult practiced) believed that sacrificing a live victim would result in more power & favor from the gods, such as protection & invisibility while dealing/transporting their wares in what was at the time, a very lucrative drug trade. It was learned from the narco-occultists arrested in the Kilroy case, that Adolpho was a homosexual & felt that if a person was tortured & felt intense abject fear & intense pain (through sodomy & other types of pain infliction) at the time of death, more power would be offered to their god(s). Totally f’d up. It’s what nightmares are all about. As a footnote, Santeria comes from the Yoruba people from Nigeria and Palo Mayombe comes from the Congo. Since Congolese slaves were brought to the Caribbean much earlier than the Yoruba, it’s harder to trace their music, culture & religiosity. But anthropologists, behaviorists & law enforcement investigators will tell you based their individual experiences, Palo isn’t always so horrific, but can be far more sinister, more savage and even more mysterious than Santeria . Slaves that came to the Caribbean centuries ago, adopted Catholicism, the religion of their overlords, but used it as a cover for their own religious beliefs. Catholic saints were used to camouflage the gods they worshipped. That said, Palo is very ‘free form’. It has no ancient sacred text (no Bible, Torah or Koran), no specific protocol, no religious leader , no central HQ or base of operations. Palo Mayombe & Santeria, for that matter, are transmitted orally & handed down generationally. That means practice methodology of Palo is more likely to vary from country to country, neighborhood to neighborhood, family to family & from village to village. And one more thing: Babalú (Aye) is a deity in the Santerian pantheon. It’s also the name of a popular Cuban song made popular by Ricky Ricardo (Desi Arnaz) on the legendary I Love Lucy TV show of the 50’s. Both Desi & his character are/were Cuban. The song ended with a very long, almost mesmerizing conga drum solo component. Ricky/Desi were a sweaty, exhausted mess by the time the number was over. Even that well known, VO-5 slicked back pompadour haircut couldn’t escape the very real athleticism that was required to perform this song’s conga coda.

I lived in Harlingen when this happened. The terror this caused was immeasurable. My brother and sister snuck out one night and went to Padre. My sister decided to leave thinking my brother had a ride home, but he did not. He ended up finding one and made it home, but not before my parents were up and horrified, thinking the worst. They both were grounded for quite some time.

I remember watching another video about this case and apparenlty the reason Seraphin gleefully ran the roadblock was because he literally believed he was invisible to autorities due to some of the ceremonies and spells of Adolfo. He told this druglords that they were protected that way and they believed him blindly. Thats why he smirked & seemed to enjoy retelling everything on the ranch. He genuinely believed there wont be consequeces to pay for them so he just told them everything.

@Liverpool5095

Sadly, the word horrible is not reserved for humans, and specific individuals from virtually any creature can be so. A dog raised by my dog rescuer neighbour with full love and care just decided one day to maul a little baby girl to death who was walking down the street with her mother. He was a pitbull, and specialist investigators told my neighbor its natural predatory inclination that it was bred to have took over out of nowhere, and there's nothing she could've done differently. She loved that dog and raised it perfectly and he he still did that. My point is there are "horrible" examples in all creatures sadly and humans aren't an exception.

I'm 2 yrs older than him so it was a major shock for everyone especially our age group even if we didn't know him. Generally speaking, Spring/Summer half the kids went to the New Braunfels area to go tubing and party in San Antonio and the other half went to Corpus. I always went west to Hill Country. Watching your video it seems like it was 100 years ago and yesterday. I'm glad you did the story. It keeps his memory alive and maybe some kid watching will be extra vigilant when they are in any unfamiliar area and know it's not an urban legend but horrible things do happen to good people. There was a good movie made about this in 2007 called Borderlands. I read a random book I bought at an airport, got on the flight, then could not stop reading it. So why have so many people tried to deny the existence of ritual murders?
@steppen3682
@steppen3682 Жыл бұрын
@@ryanjacobson2508 That's a really good question, and I don't know the answer. I know from my earlier reading that this went on for years in Matamoros, but only came to light when the cult captured a fairly well-connected "gringo", just as Costanza had ordered. Mark Kilroy wasn't a typical victim. He was a US citizen with family connections. I think for years the cult was far more careful in choosing, unfortunately, people whose absence wouldn't be noticed. That's why the US authorities got so heavily involved when Mark went missing. So very sad for every victim, especially the torture. It's chilling to think that one person can persuade a whole gang to mercilessly carry out any instruction given. Your question reminds of the saying "If it did happen, then it can happen", no matter what those in charge tell us, or how unimaginable the actual truth is.

@@ryanjacobson2508 I feel like a big part of it is: because the US in the 80s was so full of “Satanic Panic” - much of which was either totally debunked or found to be way overblown - so people can easily dismiss ritual killings because of how fantastical & similar to complete myths it can sound. Even without that factor though, I do think many would find it easier to believe that it happens in an unfamiliar culture & country than in their own.... However, if it truly _is_ happening in their own culture & country, I think the majority of people would only believe it if faced with actual evidence. Words alone, personal testimonies, or rumors & theories discussed on KZbin videos just aren’t gonna do it for the majority at this point.

Read about this case. When Serafin Hernandez ran the roadblock, he thought he was 'invisible' to the police. A spell put over him by Adolpho made him invisible. When the police followed him to the ranch, he thought it was all a joke and the police couldn't hurt him. Neither could their bullets. Then, the Mexican police officer in charge put a M-16 next to Serafin Hernandez's head and squeezed the trigger, sending out a volley of bullets. He looked at Hernandez and screamed 'You think these bullets won't hurt you??!??!'... Allegedly Hernandez pissed his pants and the laughter was over ... the trio began digging....
