Did you not listen to the story? It was the cousins company that he took over. Yeah I'd be pissed also. Maybe they shouldn't be so dependent on their father's company that they didn't even work for, but I'd think that the dad would have put the company in his will so they'd legally be entitled to it's profits. Not sure exactly how that worked. Also, I don't know how he could have been all about money if he drove a car that was falling apart and constantly giving it away. The cousins killing them really doesn't make any sense, because they would no longer get paid. Even though there was a lawsuit, killing them would make sure they would NEVER see any money.

Sherman worked as a University student for his uncle's drug company. His uncle had already built it into a profitable company. When his uncle died, then his wife died, just 17 days apart - they left four young orphaned children. Sherman bought the company with an agreement to give 5% to each kid when they grew up. But he never did. That was one of the many lawsuits.

I watched a documentary on this by The Fifth Estate- it was the uncle’s business, and his will left it to the victim (the nephew) who was clearly his protégé- but also asked him to bring the sons into the family pharma business when they were older/ready. The victim/nephew did offer the cousins money later, but they contend it was significantly less than what their “share” of their father’s business should’ve been worth- they thought their father wanted the business held/ran for them until they were old enough to be brought into it, and then it should be split equally with them and the victim/nephew. Victim/nephew countered that they were too young and then ne’er do well druggies etc for years while he grew the business, so they weren’t owed any more than he gave them. Cousins countered that he kept enabling their wild lifestyles so they wouldn’t take over the business that was rightfully theirs, then resisted/blocked them when they tried to become a part of it. Very cantankerous.

As a Canadian and remembering all these tragedies as it's part of our past, it's stark to see them covered internationally. Not sure about the murders here, I don't think it was murder-suicide. I'm not entirely sure, but I think in Toronto it's illegal to own surveillance cameras that can capture footage of your neighbor across the street because it infringe's on their privacy. I say this because our car got stolen in the middle of the night 6 years ago, and we asked our neighbors across the street if we could look at their surveillance cameras, they said that their cameras only capture up to the end of their driveway, everything beyond that is blurry and pretty much unvisible (they showed us anyways of course). They told us that when they bought the cameras they were told that no camera can go beyond a certain distance as a way to protect other neighbor's privacy. Now this was 6 years ago, so, laws may have changed.

I worked in an office in Toronto and had the pleasure of meeting Honey Sherman, I can honestly say she was absolutely lovely, I met her twice as I was Reception/Executive Assistant. To this very day the majority of us in Toronto do NOT accept nor believe the stupid and despicable theory of it being a murder/suicide. This was clearly murder and I, like many of my friends all believe we know who it was. It's definitely a relative and not a business associate. May both Honey and Barry Rest In Peace. Shalom.

In the beginning, the police said the Sherman's cause of death was a murder suicide. The Sherman children aggressively fought this determination and, after the evidence was re-evaluated, the Sherman's cause of death was changed to homicide. Last I recall, one of their son's, who had a history of drug problems, was being looked at as a possible perpetrator.

That's how the Toronto Police roll. In 2001 they messed up another "suicide" of John Connelly, a 22 year-old from Ottawa who was in Toronto for university. When the parents started digging, they found out the detective had never seen the body before deciding it was a suicide. In fact, police declared vital signs absent but paramedics found a pulse minutes later. The parents are still trying to get their son's death ruled a homicide. Most recently, Toronto police disregarded all the signs of serial killer Bruce McArthur until he had killed 8 men, that they know of.

Been binge watching now for two weeks, having just found this channel. Thanks 🙏 Mike. There was mention of the oldest son Jonathon who is now estranged from his sisters. He was adopted and the sisters were Honey and Barry’s. He had a falling out with his father Barry over millions given to him for a storage company business. He had many failed businesses with Barry’s money in the past. I believe Barry put stipulation on this current loan to be paid back. He would not have committed the actual murder as he was away on vacation but ….. he is considered as a person of interest. The Toronto Star had to get court orders to have the public records released and they are heavily redacted. There is also a fired executive who “fled” moved to Pakistan who is a person of interest. There was also an affair of a top Apotex exec with a top US pharmaceutical exec. It is an incredible twisting and turning case ….. Mike should keep following it up.

@andrewmildenberg4210
@andrewmildenberg4210 4 жыл бұрын
Carl Lennen Drugs shouldn’t be patented because it creates a situation where more affordable versions are denied for the sick and dying. R+D is mostly funded by our tax dollars (at least in the states they are) there is NO reason to keep medicine at a higher price simply because the companies want to make even more money. Drugs are created to HELP people. If profit comes before help, then what’s the point of the drugs? How can a drug help someone if they can’t afford it? The “hard working people” would still get paid very well, even without a patent, because people will always need medicine. Don’t act like having better access and cheaper alternatives is a slap in the face, because it’s not. It would only allow drugs to be better distributed to the people who need them. That was the point of the drug being made in the first place. Also, don’t conflate the testing and safety of the drugs to the patent. They are two different things. A drug can still go through the normal trials of being created, tested and distributed without a patent. A patents only job is to make sure only a certain amount of people can make them. Aka, hoarding. Which is a selfish act. I am not “virtue signaling”, I am negatively affected by these practices. I am forced to buy more expensive name brand drugs because the patents keep them from being able to make more affordable generic brands. The fact that you think I’m the one being cruel in any capacity shows how little you actually care and know about these subjects. The problems we have are systemic, which means we need a larger approach to help solve them. Your salvos to claim that I’m “not doing anything” is not only misdirected and nonsensical but completely missing the point. What I do as an individual will not solve these problems, and the existence of other problems around the world and in other third world countries does not negate or lessen the pain I and many other people feel when being taken advantage of. What I find disgusting is your entire screed and blame at me as an individual. If there needs to be any one looking themselves in the mirror it’s the person protecting abusive practices and blaming the ones being affected by it. That would be you. Educate yourself. You said a lot of very inane and idiotic things. You aren’t helping anyone with your attitude. Thanks.

I'm in Toronto and still waiting for a break in this case but I don't think that might ever happen. Definitely a hit by a someone close or one of the 150 people/companies Barry was suing at the time. My feeling is that it may be related to the builders or architects or others involved in the design/build of the house, who he'd sued and from whom he got back over $2M in damages due to "design flaws". One of the main areas of contention in the house was the basement and pool area. I don't believe it was an accident that they were hung from the railings of the pool area. There was a vindictive message in that. Also, the police were stupid to think two people both hung by belts would be a murder/suicide. Plus Barry got greedy. I believe they were selling the property for over $6M so with the $2M they got from the law suit, the house was almost free of cost and pure profit.

Ok I have a confession to make, Mike is truly amazing 👏 at doing this. I always read positive comments and wondered. Now here's a case I've been obsessed with and watch every documentary and news bits but nothing as thorough and complete as this. All those documentaries put together do not provide half the information this one does. Very humbling, well done. On a lighter note: "respected " lawyer? Is there such thing 🤔 😳

I remember hearing that he was involved in about 20 to 30 ongoing legal cases when they were killed. Some billionaires have a lot of enemies, it could really be anyone.

The Canadian media reported something wonky is going on with the wills of the couple, but they didn't elaborate. They also noted that the children of the couple have left the country and refuse to be interviewed. But I also would be pretty pissed with the RCMP if they accused my parents of a murder suicide, so, who knows?

Crazily enough I had a paper route on this street when I was a teen. Their home wasn't built yet but the hood was for the mega rich. I lived close but in a modest townhouse.
