Well after a year its possible to move on, but the 1st death anniversary actions were awful. o Keep in mind these can possibly be post hoc ergo proper hawk fallacies. ''correlation doesn't automatically mean causation''. The amanda knox case is famous for this. Her roommate who she didn t know well died and she just didn't care. She was doing all this sexual stuff with her boyfriend at the crime scene search. The police and press made such big deal outta of it, ''omg your best friend in world died and you don't even care you monster! you knew her for all those 10 seconds you saw her, you grew your hair together,, '' There have been cases where people do insanely disrespectful things after a death and just are dicks, not killers. You need Some hard evidence to back up that suspect behavior. then you've passed reasonable doubt in my books. Though dumb juror's often fall for appeal to emotion . Convicting sometimes innocent people to life in jail with zero hard evidence. The data on witness testimony show's its one of the least reliable forms of evidence. Like as high as 90% inaccurate

This is actually a case from my county. I worked in a pharmacy and therefore spoke with Dr Kauffman many times. We were all so surprised first at the death of his wife, then at his behavior afterwards. It was not surprising though that Atlantic county detectives drug their feet on this case. With the exception of Atlantic city the county is extremely inexperienced in homicide and Linwood is a very tiny town that houses the affluent of Atlantic County so they all knew dr Kauffman personally. Actually the home she was murdered in is situated in a gated community housing judges and many physicians. My point being that they didn't want to investigate a friend and neighbor. I am very happy he was finally held accountable.

That was so insane how at the moment he thought he was being arrested, he jerked away and said “No! I’m killing myself!” and attempts to retrieve his gun. Then when they explain it’s just a search warrant he’s all calm and cool. He literally thought they were there to arrest him for the murder finally. His behavior was a dead giveaway! If I did that, I might as well promote myself to a full bird colonel. 🤦♂️ But if this is what a person is saying to someone they intend to date, eventually have a relationship with, then I've just provided a TOOL for them to verify. I'd don't think being a veteran is anything to brag about. I still care about this country, but I hardly think of it as a "United States" 🙄 anymore.

@@ThatChapter hey Mike, I started making true crime documentaries last month. Would you ever consider doing a collab for a new youtuber? I bet you remember the struggles of starting a channel. Most people don’t realize how difficult it is and how much work it takes. Thanks anyways, I watch literally every video you make. You’ve inspired me in a way. I wish I could talk in front of a camera like you. You rock.

@@JulieRoberts-mt2zy I am still horrified by that case! It is baffling to me that 6 people can all be in the same frame of mind and commit those atrocities on that poor young couple. Worse than any horror movie

Mike, I think you've really hit your niche with these twisted little family/domestic tragedies. Sure, I enjoy a serial killer documentary as much as the next guy- but there are only so many to go around. Stories like these are more 'relatable', and should provide a rich seam of material for years to come!

Like I couldn't agree more. But at the same time it's very sad. 🤔☹

I mourn the demise of the serial killer. Damn DNA and technology for getting so advanced they barely get past victim three before being caught.

And the amount of actual interrogations, news stories, pics, etc he has is amazing. I've seen other shows of some of the same cases & they just can't compare. Mike does such an in-depth, fantastic job!

My sons found an animal skeleton in the yard the other day and I started using detective language and looking for clues, all because of this show. My husband and kids were basically just ignoring my antics. They went inside and I’m still outside looking for animal tracks and shite.

I agree - being happy and satisfied with a comfortable life and good circle of family and friends then it indicates wisdom and maturity. People who are always chasing more, wanting more and constantly feel the need to impress others with their accomplishments often simply come across as insecure and pathetic.
