You guys do realize 2012 ZR1's were pulling damn near 900 whp with the same mods... That was 7 years ago. I can't reference a shop off the top of my head but I do believe Katech has tuned 2018-19 ZR1's in the 950 whp range with the same mods. This kind of power isn't exclusive to the GT500, and is to be expected at this point. You guys are either stanning for Ford or just not in tune with the times

I grew up on foxbodys and sn95s, we put a lot of work in to go 12s. Then I got a terminator, 12.6 stock. Now I'm rolling in a 14 GT looking at 10s. We have become jaded. But I'm thrilled to see a time that I was born after happening again, where Mustangs, Camaros, challenger's and chargers are roaming the streets, and blowing away numbers from years gone by. It's a great time to be a car guy.

Outta everything i love about this car the most important feature for me is how every magazine has compared this transmission to Porsche's PDK that in itself is miles ahead of the competition. Ford has really done their work on this car

Before I even watch it: YEEEEEES Those shifts hit SO hard... The experience... I NEED IT! Cupholders hold lenses perfectly CHECK! I saw my first one in person at the local ford dealership. Fresh off a car transport which came through bad weather. It was dirty, but I didn't mind. It looks amazing. It's like they took the GT350 styling and just went full hot-wheels with it. Everything is bigger, beefier. The wish to drive one someday is great! It looks and sounds like an amazing experience!

This car is so underrated. 70+ dollars you can pay for a fully spec BMW 320 diesel with 184 horsepower or whatever. You said it right, the most power per dollar is with this car. Ford deliberately sandbaged the power, the supercharger only has 12 psi, less than 1 bar of pressure. With a software tune, cold air intake, cat-less exhaust, injectors, fuel pump you can squeeze that 930 hp or more, which is McLaren P1 stuff. Get the 18k carbon pack for feather light wheels and it's good to go, it will shoot past any M5, E63 or RS6 for less money and way better sound.

DCT. It's awesome. It's about the best that transmissions could ever possibly be. But it takes involvement away. Cannot deny that. Sometimes drivers want to be part of the give-take relationship of connecting the torque to the wheels, changing the behavior of the drive-train with their foot and hand. For the reasons of fun, involvement, for additional connection to the car, Ford needs to offer a Tremec 6spd MANUAL that can withstand at least 1500 hp as an option.

I believe Evolution Performance's 2020 GT500 now has the record for quickest and fastest 2020 GT500. It ran a 9.59 1/4 mile, not sure what the mph was. I think the biggest hindrance for these cars at the drag strip is the transmission control module. Tuners currently can't modify the transmission tune.

The sad thing is, there are older Mustangs and other pony cars with stock internals and a turbo that can run under 10 all day long. Main thing is how the ECU is set up for gearing, engine speeds, etc. There's guys out there that have a 5.3 LSX motor w/ a turbo in the little S10 trucks that run under 9.5 sec in the 1/4 mile. For way less money then the Shelby. Just saying there is a much cheaper way to get speed if that's your thing.....

It's funny because I'm terrified of Roller coasters & heights, but I absolutely LOVE getting that feeling from really fast cars like he describes at 7:31. Not too many cars can give you that feeling, but the ones that do... Oh man, what a treat. I recently drove a 2010 Nissan GTR (video on my channel #shamelessplug) and even that vehicle didn't give me that near-sick feeling but it is still such an incredible car to drive and one of my favourites. I love how rapidly you can hear the shifts change in the GT500. It's truly instantaneous! I've been a life long fan of the Mustang like many of us, hoping I can finally snag a 2018 GT this year.
