This is what can happen when you don't dump money on janky plastic body kits hanging off the car, rims worth more than the shell, and a suspension slammed to the ground. He cut out the aesthetic crap and made the thing go fast. Nicely done.
@Beer_Dad197510 жыл бұрын
***** It reminded me of stuff I did as a kid too (90's for me) - of course even tuned back then we weren't making anything near 330whp - and even when I was 18 I knew enough to upgrade the brakes and suspension before adding power (mountain road junkie all my life). Now I've moved on, but I still like the idea of the sleeper - but not a FWD Honda, it's just never going to be nice to drive on a winding road no matter what you do to it.

Since when is suspension "aesthetic"? Sure, you can slam it, but suspension offers a whole lot more than just "aesthetic" value. Suspension and brakes are the first and most important mods you should do to any car.

QuangTran27 I had a track spec Peugeot 205 GTI back in the day, don't ask how i managed to fit a 2.3 litre saab turbo into it, cause i don't know myself. But it had just on the right side of 300bhp. All it had suspension wise is a strut bar and sport spring. An unmarked cop almost caught me once doing 200 somthing kph something on the highway. Car wasn't even registered in the country not to mention road legal, cop took off after me, and i got stuck in a traffic jam as i was exiting to get away. I knew i had nowhere to go so i basically expected to get a gun in my face. He parked behind me, walked up to my car, shook his head, and kept walking. Different colour bonnet, rust here an there, matte and scratched paint. He was like, "Nah, it was a different car." and kept looking.
@Ascalis19 жыл бұрын
ares9304 Probably for the best that you didn't get that U mad face or LOLOLOLOLO then... It'd make your car more easily recognizable. Although at this point you should definitely get all the lyrics for "It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy painted on. You wouldn't even have to pull over either. Cops would just read it and eliminate you from the suspect list

eidolonbreed I'm not sure why muscle car owners would hate on other muscle cars...
@jamielee2510 жыл бұрын
Themayseffect Only one way to eliminate the hate is to be HONEST. Most honest car guys who appreciate their car for what it is ( a machinery ) and not attach their ego to it, will appreciate any car, their own or others, based on it's MERIT. This is few Honda car vid that i appreciate, as most Honda guys that I know, are so driven by Ee-Ma-gee. So of course I love seeing this one without it, but with plenty of power. Even if this car had built suspension, it really can not early power out of a corner like a rwd, or awd. That's a weakness that you fwd owners must admit. Even though most all muscle cars are rwd, they just don't handle well. So why not be honest about it, instead of talking trash and hating? Pick the car that meets your priorities. If you don't care about cornering, say so, instead of b.s. ing and lying. I personally like cars with good handling (without the harsh ride) but love big time torque. Naturally I have fantasy about putting Chevy small block in a Japanes sports car. Why hate domestic or import, when each has it's own merit. Just be honest with the merits of the machines. Honestly is the BEST policy.
Wow. I actually found some sabaru haters. That's cool!

+Leadfarmer153 yea but it's also a 90's car, i mean it was on the driver to know how to drive back than anyway. It wasn't till recently that cars had to pick up for the lack of skill a driver has, i mean drivers today for the most part are just operators, the car does all the work. Try that logic in AW11 or SW20, and you'll be roadkill. But you bought the car, agreed to drive it, it was your responsibility to know how. I wouldn't drive that car unless it had the proper suspension, tires and brakes. lol I would be that "wrong driver"

A Honda can be modified right and doesn't need to be all ERMAHGERD VTEC YO DRAG RAYC RIGHT NOW BRUH HEY BRUHBRUHBRUHBRUHBRUHBRUH.....HORSEPOWER BITCH Some random douchey shit along those lines. As shown here, you can keep the car looking subtle without a problem. The second thing that has been done right here is the actual upgrading of the engine...many times a part will be thrown on without care and then the car just runs like shit. Here, every part has been properly installed and tuned, he did a perfectly clean job of hiding away any components that could reveal the sleeper's identity, and this car is running healthy which means that the guy may be occasionally slamming the gas for some fun but the car is well treated and taken care of otherwise. Phillip Jones I'm sure it has, who cares.
@somanymods10 жыл бұрын
Phillip Jones well a sleeper civic in general isn't exactly a novel idea but if you have a really stock looking one that isn't a hatch it should still catch people off guard or if nothing else be funny to see it going fast
@PhillyBoy896910 жыл бұрын
Very true..I've been driving honda/Acura for many years.. I would dare say I'm a Honda guy..I drive a 7th Gen right now.. and I'm all for creative that's why we do this..
@toypop9610 жыл бұрын
I'm still waiting for someone to take a crappy looking car like this (or a 4-door Accord or something), put a built engine in it, deliberately rice it up so people think they're douches with a slow car, then blow them away.

turbo lag is the term you were looking for around 6:00 and seems like you'd get a ton of understeer with that stock suspension with 330hp but still sleeper as fvk

I own what this car is without the turbo. A 94 Honda civic. But I live in Cali so its extremely oxydized. I find this awesome that he was able to bump it up that high. Stock is only 102. I also just have the standard 5 speed manual. I think this is a great idea. And something that would be fun to do. But its a great car to push hard and holds together. This is easily one of the greatest sleepers I've seen.
@mynameisray9 жыл бұрын
Two whole hours! OMG!!! That's so far! I mean I only took my '91 SI Hatch with a boosted K20 in it on a 2000 mile road trip. Forget the 15 hours of non stop driving I did one way, this guy drove two whole hours!! WOW!

Better get some stickier tires on there though, no point in having all that power if you can't put it to the ground. Tires are the single most important upgrade
@Proff0ak10 жыл бұрын

Haha. This is so totally awesome man. The only thing I would change is the suspension. But only to keep the stock look. Koni Yellows and H&R OE springs. Give it that stiffer feel to handle the power.
