I was talking to a friend and she said something about going to PT. I said, you ought to watch Bob and Brad. That's it. Nothing else. She said, is that those two guys on You Tube? I said, YES! So, it does look like you're pretty famous. Lol.

This 1-3-5 method REALLY works for me! I tried it out using colored index cards I bought from the dollar store. It was working well, but I kept forgetting to toss the cards at the end of the day and they started cluttering up my house. So this year (2020) I bought a planner and began implementing the 1-3-5 method in there. No more loose cards! Everything's centralized! Now prioritizing my day is *chef's kiss*. tl;dr thanks for this vid, Bob & Brad, it has really helped me stay focused in my life. :heart:

For myself.. I am a mother of 8. It's always a given that we have interrupting.. so it's easy to fall off track and become discouraged. I homeschool and take care of them all 24/7. Lately, I have found that staying off a lot of social media helps me to remain on task and not hearing political mumbo jumbo and everyone's opinions is also a nice break! I listen to the radio instead, while working, instead of having a screen take my attention. Getting enough sleep is also vital. No energy then getting anything done will feel impossible. Lastly, CBD oil... I totally used to have a billion thoughts.. not bad ones but thinking of all I had to do and I felt like I couldn't even enjoy things because simple tasks felt overwhelming. I now feel so much better.. probably a 90% improvement. As a child I was tested (ADD) and came out fine, however there's no way I don't truly have ADD .. it's not all bad, I was a 911 dispatcher in 2 states and the fast pace went well with my mind... Now if only my body was like my mind, I wouldn't be over weight :) haha working on that!

Please, how do you use the cbd (what kind and how much)? I have a really hard time with distraction/overwhelm/ billion thoughts. I get some things done but need to be able to organize my self/home/thoughts/goals/priorities. Your help would be very welcome indeed! “Thanking you” so much, very gratefully, “in advance! Yours truly:-)”

@@laureygreider7617, better yet, there is a very free alternative. It's called Meditation. Learning to sit and breath slowly is better than any drug on the planet and you don't have to buy it. Start with setting an alarm for 5 min and just sit. Don't try to clear your mind, don't try to DO anything. Just sit. When 5 minutes becomes okay, do 6 min. Pretty soon you'll be sitting for 20 or more minutes. When you get up, you will start to feel calmer. It's a practice and it's best to establish a habit of giving yourself permission to do this each day at a set time. Good luck. I PROMISE it works!
@laureygreider76176 жыл бұрын
Thanks Elisabeth. I’ll do that, I know it is wonderful:-)! Cbd is not a “drug”, but is a medicinal food, hemp oil, which is nutritious to the brain and helps it function more smoothly, which some of us appreciate. It is not marijuana, that’s thc you may be thinking of, and that can be a very healing medicinal food as well for those it can help tremendously. Society has brainwashed us to demonize wholesome natural healing methods, while steering us towards very dangerous and negative alternatives. Yes , meditation is awesome, but not the only good thing we can do. I still hope to hear from our lovely friend “Blessed”, please don’t be frightened away by this exchange. My question was for you, who wrote the comment in the first place. Thanks and congratulations on being a great mother and the many other things you have done and are doing on and for the planet!

Congrats! I used to tell my kids, "Just do ten things." Things would be regarding picking up things off the floor, or washing dishes, etc. It works for me as well. We would usually do more than ten. Even if you just did ten, you would be surprised at how much better things would look after twenty pieces (child and myself working) were gone.

Cool idea. I tweaked it a bit to put my top 1 task then 3 more tasks, but the 5 bottom tasks are the fun tasks that I would rather do. I used a game approach and said I can’t get to the second level until I beat the first level and more importantly I can’t get to the fun tasks until I beat the second level. It is an interesting way to reward myself for getting all of the less desirable tasks done.

I find it helpful to place my daily planner on my dashboard, directly in front in my speedometer but behind my steering wheel. With it there, I can engage my abs while jotting down my 1-3-5 list. Productivity and insurance claims soar with this method!

YAY!!. Congratulations!!! I really enjoy your videos, so many practical tips. For focus, I put my to-do list on a small whiteboard that is in our kitchen, where I see it all day. The tasks miraculously get done, even if I'm not constantly reading the list. It seems to get into my subconscious mind. Works for me!!

I definitely do better when I have a list! For me, if it's out of sight, it's out of mind, so having that list helps me focus. One HUGE thing I have found for my day off when I run errands, shop, etc: make a master list of groceries (I made mine in the order of how I shop, by department/aisle). Make a bunch of copies of it and each week hang a new one on the refrigerator so people can circle/write in the items they want/need. That way you don't forget something. I also have on the top of my list an area for Bills to Pay, Appointments, Returns, Mail, and whether I need Cash/Gas, etc. It works great for me! I did have to revise mine once so far, you will find what works for you!
