I'm a local but based on my experience too i can tell that the quality of food in Jollibee depends on the branch that you're dining in. I've encountered the most juicy, crispy and tasty chicken from jollibee as well as the perfect rice with it. fresh and warm rice but at some branch they just doesn't taste as good as others. for example i have dine in other jollibee stores and I've encountered their chicken being too dry, tough feels like it's a left over. the rice being cold and shagy. the fries being soggy and spaghetti being cold. I feel you jimmy and it's true you could've had a more pleasant experience with the food but it's just the quality that they can't maintain. i hope that they'd be consistent too. anyway i do hope that you still enjoy the meal and your stay here. keep safe and take care!

Moral lesson, learn the history. His honest opinion is valid and i appreciate him for that. His right foreign vloggers use it for clout, sub, views and likes only. I understand, it maybe difficult for the foreigner to appreciate the food and what Jollibee is all about to the filipino history. Its more than that. For us Filipinos, Jollibee is FAMILY. It brings nostalgia every time we see one, remembering our childhood days, when our parents or grand parents would bring us to jollibee to eat food. We were always excited every time we hear that we will eat at jollibee, it is the happiest time in our life as a kid eating our favorite burger, french fries and spagetti, more so with our parents to see us happy is priceless for them. It become a tradition that even the poorest filipino parents dream is to bring their kids to the nearest Jollibee store. They will try to save money just so they could bring their kids and experience what jollibee magic is all about. Mind you the parents would sacrifice and will not order any food for them, only for the kids to watch them eat. This is what jollibee to us. JOLLIBEE is FAMILY!. Jollibee is the first restaurant a one year old filipino kid can uttered as "JOBEE" or short for Jollibee. That's why i say is more than that, Jollibee is Home as well. Jollibee is home a way from home, especially to those working abroad. It bring comfort to us, joy and pride. One thing Jollibee food is made to filipino KIDS and not so much to adult likeness, that's why our spagetti is sweater compared to western side. But i understand, that in this world only change is inevitable, in the fast changing world so as our food should adopt for the better. Just my two cents.

As a Filipino myself the ones I've tried locally, specifically the fried chicken, range from decent to one of the best fried chicken I've ever had at a fast food place. The gravy is also fantastic. My Filipino friend introduced me to Jollibee in the US a few years ago. I guess I didn't know what to expect, but the chicken was quite good. I hadn't heard of the sweet spaghetti before, but it's something I really like now. The quality can vary a bit between locations, and even at the same location. They have tried different things with their fries (they are not so good cold) - the best was when they were putting the fries in a little paper bag to get them warm. The rice should be "fresh" because they're cooking it all day, but it does tend to be a bit drier or something (but I come to expect it to always be that way). Jollibee has quite a distinct flavor profile - the burger steak reminds me of the Swanson beef patties I grew up with, the rice has a specific flavor, etc. I prefer Jollibee chicken to almost anything we have here. Sometimes I want to go just for the taste of the food, not that it's gourmet or anything. The staff are always very nice and friendly, the burger ingredients are stacked very nicely (not just thrown together like other American fast food).

I'm a Filipino, and I love my country, but I'd have to agree with Jimmy on this one. I've watched tons of Jollibee reviews over the years, but I don't really agree to most of what they're saying. As a Pinoy who has experienced Jollibee all my life, most their reviews just doesn't sit right-- whether they're at a "good" branch or not. Feels like it's the first time I've watched a Jollibee review that actually dropped the real bombs. And I'm not saying the food is bad, I'm saying the quality is fit for the market that they're aiming for. And that's totally understandable. :))

Thanks for your honest opinion. I have been to Jollibees in NYC, Milan and Manilla. I love the Filipino people, but the quality of this restaurant chain has gone down in the past 5 years, even though they continue to open new locations around the world. Out of all the items on the menu, I think the Chicken Joy and the Peach mango Pie are good. When trying the spaghetti, I know this is not like Italian spaghetti but like the Spaghetti'Os I had in a can when growing up as a kid. Sweet and tangy sauce. This is fine as long as you understand this before ordering this item. Out of all the fast food chains I think the best Chicken sandwich is now at Chick-Fila and the best tasting fast food Hamburger is now Shack-Shack. Jimmy; thank you for your honest review and I agree with your opinions. Maybe with more honest opinions, this will make Jollibee improve some of their items on their menu.

This is definitely one of those cases where someone’s been hyped up so much with something but unfortunately got handed the short end of the service stick. I don’t regularly eat at Jolibee since before the pandemic, but I do remember having both good and bad versions of their menu, so I do understand your honest opinion. I guess that’s the caveat of being a huge fastfood corporation, quality consistency tends to drop with certain branches. I had the same experience with other popular franchises like Panda Express and Dominos.

As a person who may or may not have worked at JB, I would say that it is hit or miss sometimes, some days the food be hitting and it's so fresh and tastes amazing, other times it may not be the best that it could be, depends on a multitude on factors. Also tbh I think the JB in the states is better. I would say the most consistent thing on the menu would be the Peach Mango pies as they are just simply fried and will stay crispy for a long time. Overall I still believe JB is like my number #2 chicken joint, like with all things in life don't let one bad experience determine the value of everything else. Other than that I agree that there are so many other places to eat than JB. Keep up the great work and love your vids!

why would you go to a hit n' miss fast food chain? is the miss ratio low or what justifies it?

Jollibee's quality in PH is on the decline, the quality is probably much better in other countries like US or Canada.

I first tried Jollibee in Singapore in 2022 and it was actually amazing. Weirdly enough when I tried it in Cebu, it's not that tasty in comparison (granted I ate in a branch where it seems secluded). The gravy and sauces were all wonderful tho. Wish they open a branch in Indonesia or Australia.

Hi! I’m a filipino who live in the US. I feel the same way about Joliibee in the Philippines. But i feel that Jollibee in the US tastes so much better. I recommend you try the Jollibee in the US.

Cap lol. I grew up in the U.S and jollibee in the ph is better. To be fair tho i lived on the main island on Luzon not in cebu

I'm sad to say but I can agree on this. Jollibee's quality has deteriorated over the years. The ChickenJoy is not the same as when I was in my teens. They have also significantly increased their prices without maintaining their quality. It makes me sad but I rarely eat Jollibee anymore. But, JImmy! If you're still in Cebu, I'd love to accompany yoouu!!! T_T

I agree with you, 100%. 'Cause back then, it was really good but as I grew up, it doesn't hit the same anymore. That's why I switch from Jollibee to McDonald's.

Don't worry, Jimmy.I won't hate you for your honest review. I like Jollibee, because it gives me the good nostalgia ( you are right), it's one of the places where my friends and I used to hangout, but there is nothing more than that. Like the other fast food chains in the Philippines, they probably serve genetically modified, and bleached chicken. Also the cooking oil they use for frying is reused so many times.😊😊😊
@avakiin66149 ай бұрын
Genetically modified food is okay. Every domesticated animal and plant is technically "genetically modified" by humans but after over thousands of years of selective breeding. And what's the difference with that and those created in the lab? Nothing. The latter often just results in a sped up version of what our species have been doing for thousands of years. The anti-science rhetoric is not it. But yes I agree with the other points.

Peach mango is the best but it's also best to wait for it to cool down since it's very hot

dang those chickens look SMALL, my only problem with jollibee is inconsistency, (different branches, different taste)
@germanium19959 ай бұрын
This is an honest review. You are lucky when you chance upon their juicylicious chicken as they advertise it- particularly true when it’s newly cooked. I agree you dont go to jollibee for fries and coke

The thing with Jollibee is they prioritize their marketing/advertising over the quality of their food.

Yeah Jollibee can be a hit or miss and i'm sure most foreigners don't enjoy it as much as the locals do. The only items i would comfortably recommend to foreigners would be the chicken and peach mango pie.
@zell895710 ай бұрын
Being exposed to different food flavors, Jollibee felt average. You're right, some adults still love it because of nostalgia.

As someone who lives in Canada, jollibees is so much better than the franchises we have here. KFC, Popeyes, some other ones. They are alright. But the jollibees restaurant near me always had juicy chicken and it’s always crispy. I’m assuming it really just depends on the restaurant. Like the popeyes near me is crispy for sure, but it was kinda dry and lacked flavour really. I’d say the only chicken places that were better than jollibees was some of the Korean fried chicken places, but even then jollibees was still better than most fried chicken places, although the prices are pretty absurd

They opened one here in Florida, and I judged it by it being a foreign filipino fast food compared to US fast food chains it wasn’t bad. But I judged as it is a filipino fast food branch
