How about the best places to live in Macomb County? This channel seems to be geared only to Oakland and Wayne County. I grew up in Northern Macomb County and the area has shaped up and developed nicely in the last 40 years. In addition, the housing there is slightly more affordable than similar housing in Oakland County.

Southfield should have made the list for a few reasons....best public library in the suburbs, most tax collections from the corporate headquarters, best public park system in the suburbs, huge lots with great mid century modern ranches. And great prices on homes...for the moment anyway. Also, the reopened Northland and the 1400 new housing units will be amazing when finished. And we're the most fiscally solvent city in Oakland County as well.

Houghton lake Michigan the biggest inland lake in Michigan and the 7th biggest inland lake in the USA no including the great lakes you should check it out I've lived here since 1979 I can show you around and fill you in on alot of the history it's also is the starting point of the Muskegon river that goes from Houghton lake to the great lakes thanks and I would be happy to tell you some of the history and why it such a great place to vacation at or live thanks Bob

Dude, this video is named wrong! All of the video is only about South to South Central Oakland. How can you snub the north half of the county? We have the county seat. We have Rochester and Rochester Hills, both very expensive places to live, with a cute downtown and plenty of fancy retail shops, and award winning public schools and a couple of universities. Troy has has all the skyscrapers and just look at their community center!

That's a good idea! There wouldn't be too many on the list though. Ferndale, Oak Park and Redford have had some crazy spikes in value as the cities around rise.

@@bionicman6969 Forty years ago, Ferndale was vital, alive, and fun as hell... sketchy is relative. You had to accept what you were going to find, all over the Detroit area, but there were some great creative people. My good friend in Ferndale got held up at an ATM on Woodward and the guy stood there taking $ from people for a solid hour, cops never came because no one had actually been shot. So, yeah, it also sucked. The funny part was that my friend had just jammed his withdrawn cash into his pocket, so he showed the robber that his wallet was empty. Then the guy wanted his watch, so my friend pulled up the wrong sleeve and said he didn't have one. Then the guy wanted a ride (at gunpoint) and my friend refused to go anywhere and gave him his car keys, but the guy couldn't drive a stick shift. So my buddy kept his cash, watch, and his car. My friend went home and smoked bongs for an hour to calm down, and when he drove by an hour later the dude was STILL robbing people. The police were so busy with actual shootings, they blew off my friend's phone calls every time he admitted that the guy hadn't actually shot him. So it turned out to be exasperating, but somehow 'benign.' Weird truths like that happened all the time around there. It was like a stupid game.
