I play Ahri and I think her assist is definitely a very strong tool for extensions. And a way to nerf her rekka would be to make her second hit not combo if she's too far (this is already the case but its pretty much max range). Basically make her leap less far

I believe the actual problem is the loops on the rekka, that exponentially improves damage and makes the combo I necessary long and and boring.

I think its important to note that Illaois can set up tentacles with her assist and her team mates can also activate them. Though what exactly activates them is a bit inconsistent across characters. Ekko has 3 ways (that I know of) of activating the tentacles but Ahri only has 1 (that I know of).

Ahri is my only complaint in the game. Getting carried to the corner through a simple rekka corner is just boring visually and i can get a drink from the other room while its happening

I don't have any issues with ahri's strength apart from the literally broken assist, but her combos are too long and boring imo. I start to feel like I'm just cooling off/disconnecting from the game if I have to sit through 2 ahri combos in a row, reminds me of how I used to feel in dbfz during airtigh long blockstring -> assist -> blockstring -> assist -> blockstring that hits you into long ass combo finished off by a cutscene that lets the guy restart his pressure. Obv ahri is nowhere near that but its bringing back a little bit of that feeling.

To also mention with Illaoi cause I saw you didn't mention it, Her tenticles combo with your other character on hard knockdown moves. I run Darius/Illaoi, if you get a tenticle out and do thin the ranks on the tenticle you get a follow up with it which leads to some crazy damage. And even crazier on 2x assist.

Ahri's assist is good because SHE'S literally broken. A note on the current state in the game calls her assist having NO scaled damage a bug and they apologized over that. Me and one of my best friends were shocked at the amount of damage a team of her was doing with the combos when I remembered having read that.

My 2¢: I agree a lot with Ahri and Ekko. I've gotten hit by, and hit others with, a random Ahri S1 and gotten full combo off from max range. Even on block if you're not paying attention-maybe you're scared of assist-you get stuffed by the second hit when trying to contest with L from max range. As for Ekko, the time bomb slowdown lasts too long. Maybe (probably) it's my fault, but I've had him hit me with it, walk up-not wavedash-and still get a combo. In every iteration of my team I've played Illaoi, and I feel like her buttons are just too slow and stubby compared to everyone else. I've teched out of combos, my opponent just whiffed a button beneath me, I press L and I get stuffed by them even though they hit a heavier button. Idk if there's grounded priority but I feel like there isn't as I've tried doing the same thing and I get blown up. Her H and especially her M feel like kinda bad. I'll swear I'm in range to hit someone, whiff, and eat counterhit M starter, so I just jump around fishing for my assist or a stray aerial. She feels good when she has tentacles in the corner though. Combo length feels good to me. Tag games have long combos and I personally don't mind them so. I think maybe not everything should lead to full combo? Illaoi and Darius feel like sometimes they only get button button special but Ahri, Ekko, Yasuo get a lot, and often. Personally I don't mind that they do but I'm talking health of the game.

Major Illaoi point. You get tentacles from FTag on block, and her entire SP2 button (Leap, Low Tent, Idol Jab). It's really easy to setup for her crazy corner with the entire cast being able to corner carry really easily.

I really don't feel like Darius is gonna be considered good for that much longer, even if they don't change him from now. He feels more like a "good character on paper" kinda deal where he has a lot of objective strengths like his pseudo dp and the bleed, but i really feel like as a character on his own he's going to struggle over time. He gives off similar vibes to cooler before he got any significant buffs where people really tried to hype up what was good about him. I dunno, i feel like the fact that we don't yet have an actual dedicated Zoner means he seems a lot better then he'll probably end up being down the line. Hell I'm pretty sure you can just kinda beat most of his gimmicks with better uses of the parry. Edit: context, i don't play darius. I've only played against him

We are misusing the word overtuned. While Ahri S1 rekka is absolutely overtuned (changed too much and became broken), her back assist has always been the same. It needs tuning to balance it.

Id personally add Yasuo to S. He is just neutral king. His 3M is cheap. Safe,can combo,long range, hard KND, and stops the . pushblock thing. Ahri actually has drawbacks unlike them. Stubby range, anti air is trash, and ive learned Parry can heavily blow her up. Her assist and S1 super do need to be fixed though, kind cracked.

Yasuo I think should also be in S tier He’s probably the hardest to learn and his double sever combo is extremely tight. Yasuos stances are un explored really he’s got quite high potential and very quick movement options

Braum/Illaoi is the strongest team in my mind. They cover each other's weaknesses and play to their strengths; command throws, ice/tentacle setups and they have the cutest and coolest super respectively. They are also the slowest team in the game, but I think that, at least for newcomers, reacting with these two will be easier than trying Ekko's sweaty stuff.
