I forgot i was lactose intolerant (yes, i genuinely forgot) and ate 2 liters of yoghurt over 3 days. I woke up at 3 am last night from INTENSE stabbing pains in my colon/rectum.... i really thought my colon was about to explode from my stool being stuck. I cried out in pain for 5 hours and then finally had a bowel movement which relieved a majority of the pain. I swear to god i’ve never felt this kind of pain, and i have a high pain tolerance. Lesson learned: i am lactose intolerant and should not eat yoghurt like that EVER AGAIN 😅 today im still a little uncomfortable with gas and a some constipation still, so i’ll try these yoga poses. I also just had a whole bunch of water, prune juice and a dose of laxatives - so now its just a waiting game i guess 🤷🏽♀️

Natalia Paz yes, it does help. The prunes are better as a long term solution if you struggle with constipation regularly, though. If you eat 5 prunes a day i promise you’ll feel better in a few days. Try psyllium/husk fibers. They’re nasty to swallow, but try incorporating them in oatmeal. That way you wont have to gag 😂

Hi Scott. I’m not Melissa but wanted to help. In the last pose, she was on her knees and bum on her ankles, then leaned over and put forearms on the ground. So I’m leaning over this way, it puts the pressure of your stomach on your colon area. I hope this helps!

I've been constipated since my surgery about 3 months ago and it feels really uncomfortable. I just found this video and I've done it, 1 minute for each pose, is it okay? Yoga is nice and relaxing but too gentle for chronic or severe constipation when people are living in misery. Go see a bowel function specialist. These doctors and nurses have clinics and will help you achieve better bowel function. It could take months of retraining your bowel but any improvement is beneficial long-term. You do NOT want bowel problems in old age!

I've got such terrible stomach cramps after every meal I have. It only goes away once it feels like my rectum has contents cleared. But then starts all over once i eat again. Its so painful and uncomfortable. Pain spreading to my lower back now.

You might have a food intolerance or bowel disease. I noticed the same link and I'm now with my doctor and nutritionist trying to find out what's going on. First thing we're trying is histamine intolerance. Good luck!
